We had the good fortune of connecting with Dimestate Don and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dimestate, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
It would be the people who support it most. The inquiries, and ideas all contribute to the diversity of the brand.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a recording artist, and graphic designer from Nashville, Tennessee, named Dimestate Don (@dimestatedon). I’ve been at it since 2017. I established my graphic design services in late 2019, under the name Errored Era (@erroredera) . The name represents a new generation not running away from flaws but instead acknowledging the strength in knowing and accepting yourself, hence the errored era Networking and releasing content has been the vocal growth points within my careers. It hasn’t been easy at all, from understanding my roles, worth, capabilities, to establishing myself as a business and brand has been a test but worth it always. The world should see and understand one thing about my brand and business, For the people by a person just like you. All the art I’ve put into the world has been directly inspired by everyday living, and being a local business owner means having a special connection with the community. We are the inspiration, the trendsetters, the icons. I always take away one major lesson from every bump in the road, and that is “Trust in yourself, and respect and accept what you can’t change”.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Firstly we’d explore various black owned restaurants, Slim & Husky’s, Willie B’s, 400 Degrees Hot Chicken. Secondly I’d put them onto, the beautiful scenery here in Nashville, Lover’s Circle, River front Park, and downtown Nashville of course. I’d also have to introduce them to Nashville’s indie music scene, including some of my favorite artists: Yours Truly Jai, Brian Brown, Reaux Marquez, The Blackson, and $avvy, just to name a few.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Big shoutout to $hrames, Third Eye, Sosa Bin Laden, and Lacman. Big names in my city, 615.
