We had the good fortune of connecting with Diane Bloodworth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diane, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by the underdog. The underdog succeeds because they have so much passion for their purpose. They may not have the resources, but they do not let that stop them. The underdogs chart new territory because they believe in themselves and their mission. This fall, I am pulling for the high school football players who are finding creative ways to get recruited. I also find myself cheering for Coastal Carolina football!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
scoutSMART helps college football coaches find recruits that fit their program using predictive analytics. The scoutSMART analytics improve the effectiveness and efficiency of recruiting. The analytics and fitSCORE can be customized based on what is important to the football program as well as style and scheme of play. We recently announced two new scores that provide insight into recruit production – the Disruptor Score (percentage of plays that a defensive player disrupts the offense) and Ball Security Score. scoutSMART brings all of the recruiting data into one platform to improve recruit analysis and decisions. One lesson learned is the importance of building relationships and trust with the participants in the recruiting process. We are very focused on building long-term relationships and demonstrating value with college coaches, high school coaches, and the recruits and their families.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I spend a lot of time at work, I would first have my friend stop by the Atlanta Tech Village where our office is located and provide a quick tour. My favorite destination is the Atlanta Botanical Gardens (side note: the scoutSMART corporate mascot, Scout, has participated in the Reindog Parade on multiple occasions). After a leisurely walk through the Gardens, we could grab some refreshments and tots at the Nook.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout is dedicated to the scoutSMART Team. We have a small but scrappy and talented team that produces an incredible product. I am reminded daily of the value of each team member. Truly, we are better together as a team.
