We had the good fortune of connecting with Diandra Hines and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diandra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Promoting diversity & inclusion and connecting our members to opportunities in the Media and Communications space is most important to Namic Atlanta.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I was most attracted to the NAMIC brand and wanted to join as a member because of its diversified portfolio of C-Suite level mentors. I have known for quite some time that we achieve more together. It’s never easy for people of color to move up the ladder of success. The glass ceiling has been hard to shatter for us all if we’re honest. But with organizations like NAMIC Atlanta, our sponsors, and mentors, doors begin to open that we never imagined possible. What I know for sure is that each one teaches one and we become stronger as a whole. The NAMIC brand has been an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the Media and Communications industry and will continue to pivot in an ever changing industry to ensure fairness and inclusion for ALL. As Marketing Co-Chairwoman I am fully dedicated to that mission.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d take them out to a restaurant and maybe a game at the Battery. Our partners at the Comcast building at the Battery in Atlanta has been a consistent sponsor for NAMIC Atlanta events as well as an avid supporter of Atlanta small businesses. We’ve held many events there and will continue to do so.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
NAMIC has many chapters in the US but Namic Atlanta in particular is dedicated to growing our membership and creating opportunities for multi ethnic groups in the Atlanta area. We are also very dedicated to mentorship, educational and leadership development opportunities at all levels of the Communications Industry. I’d love to shout out our NAMIC NY and NAMIC Denver Chapters as well as all the other chapters for their continued support of NAMIC Atlanta.
