We had the good fortune of connecting with Dexter Scott Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dexter Scott, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always wanted to be my own boss and run my own business. I cultivated a passion for dabbling in the stock market for several years and realized I had a natural talent for this type of business. So after years of giving advice to friends and family, I decided to share my knowledge to a wider landscape.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My attitude toward helping my clients grow their finances is positive and enthusiastic. In order to provide my clients with sound advice, I do a lot of research and ask questions to make sure that I am clear about their needs. If I think that their approach is incorrect, I am not afraid of telling them no. I’ve always had a personal interest in the stock market and watching my finances grow. After speaking with several friends and colleagues, I was encouraged to start my own business because I am naturally gifted at understanding and analyzing the stock market. Lessons learned: It is important to be patient, well-organized and willing to listen and accept criticism. What do I want the world to know about me, my brand, my story? When they see my brand SWB I want people to associate it with building wealth.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am grateful to Renault, Gabrielle, and Frank for their unwavering support as I begin this new chapter in my life. They contributed their skills and talents to help me launch my business. As my growing business moves into the next phase, I’m looking forward to working with them.
