We had the good fortune of connecting with Denali Geesh! and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Denali, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My whole reason for starting my own business was to potentially have something that lives forever! I wanted to create something that’s last long after me and that reminds people to make impactful choices. My purpose is to motivate and inspire people that have dreams and goals that look like me but may have little hope, faith or guidance. Being able to see it done and to see how it’s done for the most part is key to creating more business owners to obtain more and better. GEESH! Society is a community while also being a brand. I want to eventually get to the point where we can have our own discussions, benefits to help others grow and financial opportunities. Almost like our own automatic support system to really feel like you matter while growing in business and life! I want to elevate while helping others elevate. So most importantly before I ever started anything GEESH! I first had to find my true purpose! Once you find out what that is for you, the sky is the limit!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a music artist and clothing owner the field is definitely deemed to be over saturated but that never discourage me from being me. Although many people work in the same industries, fields and or spaces we each bring something different to the table. Individuality is key when creating anything in my eyes. What makes us who we are always shows in the art or finished product. You would almost have to mimic someone 100% for your individuality to not be present. With that being said it is still almost impossible. We get caught up not wanting to do more out of fear or what others may think. I say just go for it and love what you do. When you love what you do, share it with the world. You owe yourself that much at the very least. Leave the earth empty in a sense. Leave here creatively empty. If you create, put it out into the world however you can and I’m certain there is a space for what you create that will have people gravitate to it or become inspired by it. Of course this is all easier said than done but it is very much possible. I treat my brand as my 9-5 plus some. I make sure I show up everyday even if it’s for an hour. There’s always work to be done even on the days you don’t want to work or just don’t feel it. It ultimately comes down to how bad do you want it! Constantly ask yourself that and the drive will continue to build or you will realize you should be focusing your time and energy into something different. GEESH! Society states that we are dreamers but we make our dreams come true gradually over time. The community that has been created by the steps I have taken to build up GEESH! Are the same people that motivate me to keep building better and stronger so I can also give back to my supporters and help their businesses or dreams come true. I want everyone reading this to know that anything is possible!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I personally enjoy intimate places where we can laugh and enjoy each others company while still being able to hear one another. Lounges are typically my go to when I’m out. There’s a lounge named Eden I would frequent often. They have a great Mediterranean food menu and atmosphere while also adding some Atlanta flair to their business. Great music and a fantastic ambience. The aquarium or museum or also great discussion places to visit. There’s constantly something to be amazed about or to spark a conversation that can lead down any rabbit hole! Anywhere with quality seafood is my go to. Pappadeaux is also one of my favorite places to visit when family or friends are in town. Blue martini is a wonderful rooftop bar and lunge that gives you a certain type of classy feel while also being able to dress comfortably. See the city and have a great cocktail, especially at night! I’m going to also throw a few Ma go to spots of mine. Boston bowl is a key staple into getting to know me. I think I’m the best bowler in the world lol. Foxwoods is a well known casino I used to frequent as well whenever in search of a thrill and possible payday. There’s tons of places I could name but those above have to be a few of my favorites overall. Music and food makes me happy!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to shoutout all of my supporters in my hometown of Boston, MA and my new home of Atlanta, GA. I have to shoutout my parents for doing their best and giving me free will and space to grow into who I am today. A shoutout to my brother Jerry for inspiring me to create music, my brother Kyle for pushing me to become a brand and for always having me on a show performing and growing my name. I want to shoutout my cousin Kyle for constantly believing in me and wanting to help manage my ideas and goals while also creating programs for my business to grow; he’s a tech genius. I’m sure I may leave out a few but I hope not, I definitely want to shoutout my daughter Aaliyah Marie because she gives me so much to live for and so much more purpose to leave her with this business and brand while also pushing her to have something of her own! Ultimately I want to give the biggest shoutout to any and everyone who loves me and supports me in any way! Thank you all and I love you back! Let’s continue to grow our community and elevate. GEESH!
