We had the good fortune of connecting with DeMario Black and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DeMario, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
There is a void in the black community of accountants and other financial service providers. I wanted to be a resource to the community by helping clients reach financial success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own an Accounting Firm called DeMario Black, CPA, and helping clients reach financial success is our priority. We provide Tax, Accounting, & Insurance services to businesses and individuals. What makes us unique is I am not the typical accountant and I truly try to relate to my clients to make sure their needs are met. The best part of providing these services is when a client tells me they feel more informed and confident in their financial decision after working with us. I will say that it has been hard to get to this point in my career with multiple hurdles and even self-doubt but by trusting the process I have been able to accomplish great things and help a lot of people.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many great options in Atlanta, I would have to say Ponce City Market is a great place to bring friends from out of town to get something to eat and also see the beltline. I love the restaurants Downtown and in Buckhead, so it’s really hard to pinpoint just one. For nightlife, you have plenty of options around the city.Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my parents for putting me in a great position to succeed. I would also like to thank my mentors for providing guidance to get to this point in my journey.
