*Relationship Lounge Presents:” I’m Not Ok, Why?” Radio show/TV Show is, a Panel of intelligent “Voices” with different views regarding the issues in the black community we’re Not Okay with… We have uncut raw dialogue hoping to spark the conversation in their homes by addressing the elephant in the room…
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is my heart to serve. I’m intentional in creating a safe space of trust and nonjudgment so guests and clients receive exceptional service. My most proud moment would be having the courage to take my story of Domestic Violence to a public forum that inspired the launching pad to Relationship Lounge Presents:” Reveal and Heal” Podcast. The life challenges I have overcome positioned me to give my BEST self to others; there, I realized, “You Can’t Heal What You Won’t Reveal.”
In 1994, I was working as a Night Praiser on an International Syndicated Radio Show. I was forced to resign due to physical abuse from my husband at that time. The abuse continued till I was beaten and left for dead. Within the following year, God gave me the courage to go one last time. As part of my healing, I founded a nonprofit organization (501C3), Love Yourself first Everyday Without Condition (LYFE-WOC). My organization allowed me to be a “VOICE” for the silent. . My mission is to help women in crisis regain their self-esteem and dignity, empowering them to embrace their uniqueness, value, and potential for a life filled with love, grace, and purpose,
The core values are Dignity – Respect for the worth of every person.
•Integrity – Honesty, justice, consistency, and ethical practice in all relationships.
•Stewardship – Wise use of talents and resources in the service of others.
•Wholistic Growth – Empowering individuals to adapt creatively to changes in life.
Over the years, I began to learn that ” Good Things Don’t Come Easy” and ” Make Every Moment Count.” I understood, “For every action, there is an equal opposite reaction.” Then you’ll be able to acknowledge the importance of living, laughing, and loving, FR!!!!
What do I want the world to know about me? That is an excellent question! My brand represents Wealth, Health! and Spiritual Wholeness. I want others to know that my story could be theirs; it includes overcoming obstacles and the pain that I experienced on the way. I understand that all I’ve been through was necessary. I am ok with that. I am a living epistle, and I am still writing my story. I desire to be a blessing to each life I encounter with a friendly smile, warm hug, handshake, or words of wisdom. When I leave this world, I would like people to know and remember the kind seeds I sowed.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A week with the ladies would be enjoyable! When you visit Atlanta, you have to dine at a soul food restaurant! We would enjoy dining at restaurants like Hattie Mae, Peach Cobbler Cafe, Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours, and Old Lady Gang Southern Cuisine. Afterward, I would take them to the High Arts Museum to soak up some art. Next, stroll through Sweet Auburn Historic District to enjoy the remarkable history of our African-American brothers and sisters. Then, take an enjoyable tour at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park. Later in the evening, we would get dressed to enjoy amazing Jazz Music at local lounges like The Velvet or Azure. Lastly, we would end the night with laughter.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank all who trusted me with their stories.
