We had the good fortune of connecting with Dean Charles Anthony II and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dean Charles, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When it came to starting my own business, I always knew it would happen. I always kept a hustle throughout my life, whether as the candy man in high school or selling chick plates in college, so when I was able to buy my first camera, I just knew it would grow into something bigger. I found a tool that allowed me to harness my creativity and increase my income. I believe starting a business reflects your desire to create an opportunity for yourself and affirm that your dreams or plans are attainable. For me, my photography business is part of a much bigger dream, and the foundation of that dream.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Dean Charles Anthony II, and I am the owner of Ant P.I.C. Photography. I primarily shot portraits and weddings. I have been shooting professionally since 2014, where I started my business in college. Over the last six years, my photography has grown onto a business that prides itself on capturing the story of every moment. Getting to the place we are now was not a comfortable journey, but I have never regretted starting—the biggest challenge from properly marketing my business. Once I got past that hurdle, I began experiencing significant growth in my company.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
