We had the good fortune of connecting with DayJah Mccall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DayJah, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
The single most important decision i made that contributed to my business/success was not leaving home to go to a 4 year college.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My lash and hair business is named “Dloves.Touch” which stands for DayJah Loves Touch. What sets me apart from others is i started doing hair when i was 13 in the 8th grade. I took braiding classes at 15. I was also in cosmetology school at 17 & 18 while juggling senior year. So as you can see lashes was very unexpected. I took a lash class in January 2023 I didn’t take it seriously until July 2023. Now the crazy part is I’m only 8 months in and my work looks like I’m years in. Thats what wow’s and shocks everyone. I am where i am today professionally wise because of the way i carry myself and because of how my mother raised me. I had to grow up first so being professional started with calling making doctors appointments, dentist appointments, making reservations, etc. Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way are to be patient, trust the process, ask questions, I’ve learned to keep going no matter what and to have faith and pray over my business. As of right now I am most excited about my clientele. Everyday i wake up there’s at least 2 clients booking an appointment. So blessed. I want the world to know it is okay to give up and start over until its right . I want the world to know nothing can be anything with out God! He is why i am where i am today .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s three people that deserve recognition for helping me be where i am and who i am today. First, My Stepdad that guy is a powerful, intelligent, and wise person. He’s my pusher. He’s all about being a go getter and pursuing my dreams no matter what it is if I present the idea to him he gives me his advice and he’s there supporting me every step of the way no matter what. Second, my mother she doesn’t really know too much about being an entrepreneur or about the lash industry but she lets me work out of our home which helps me financially wise and when she’s out shopping she always keeps my business in mind and buy things to decorate and i find that very kind if her. Last but not least, my friend Nadia, if it wasn’t for her i probably would have never took lashing seriously or continued through my up’s and down’s.
