We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey Dionte and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Corey, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Personal expression is FREEDOM! I cant really say that I chose this type of field, it’s moreso that it chose me. I have always been a creative person, from the way that I style my clothes, to the types of music and art that I am attracted to. Creating products by hand, for me, has been a form of healing for me. I love providing products to help people feel and look their best. Freedom of artistic expression is love.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
CoCo & Company Hair Skin Home LLC, is my baby, I come from a medical background, so creating products by hand with very minimal ingredients to aide in healthy skin, hair and home is of most importance to me. I believe, that is what sets me a part from others. Trial and error is how I arrived at this place in my life and business. I am not afraid to make a mistake and ask for help from others who are already established in their business and successful. Nothing worth having is easy, prayer and perseverance is how I overcame any challenges that I have faced in starting this business. I would love for the world to know that I take pride in my business and want nothing more than for you to love these handmade products for yourself and entire family.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oooh! This is a good one! The Parlor is a cute little swanky spot that I would take her to get a drink and chill out. We most definitely must take a walk around Piedmont Park on a beautiful day. I love to eat and here in Atlanta there are seriously a million amazing places to eat at. I think she would really like The Sugar Factory. They have really great food and the vibe is really dope. In EAV (east Atlanta village) there is one of my favorite shops called I’m SHE, where she sells crystals, incense, body products as well as she provided Reiki healing sessions. Literally, as soon as you walk in you feel the most amazing energy and you almost don’t want to leave!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My amazing children deserve all of the recognition for the success of CoCo & Company. Deja, Mekhi & Raymond have been a constant support to me from the inception of my business. I am so thankful to have them in my life.
