We had the good fortune of connecting with Ciera Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ciera, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is remaining humble and authentic. Humility and authenticity builds great relationships with your audience. My brand and social media pages are the first thing people see, so it’s important to show them the real me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As of now, I’m currently employed at an Oncology and Hematology office as a part time Patient Service Specialist. I recently finished Nursing School and is preparing to tackle the NCLEX exam. So I would say that my career is loading, haha. My journey hasn’t been easy but I am grateful for every obstacle that came my way; molding me into a strong black woman. There’s many lessons I’ve learned but one that sticks with me is “delay doesn’t mean denial”. Everyone has their own journey. My brand focuses on natural hair and reminding women that their natural hair is enough. Sharing tips, styles, and creating a comfortable outlet is the key!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I currently reside in West Palm Beach, FL. In my opinion, there’s not much to get into here lol. However, I would take them to the beach to enjoy the scenery. There are some nice eateries around that we’ll indulge in good food and drinks!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I would like to shoutout my Husband. When I pitched my idea to him, he’s been so supportive. Although he doesn’t know much about natural hair, he asks me how’s everything is going, if I’ve collaborated with other brands, etc. It is greatly appreciated. I would like to also shoutout my best friends, Alyson Calloway and Raymond Love. These two have been asking (or should I say “telling” me) lol that I should share my natural hair hacks for a while. So during quarantine, Raymond created my logo, name, pages and his creative mind. Alyson has been a listening ear, supportive, and sharing ideas that will expand my brand. I’m so thankful for these three!
