We had the good fortune of connecting with chidera omeke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chidera, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I grew up from a family of entrepreneurs and watched my parents run successful businesses. It was something I genuinely had an interest in. I tried to explore the 9-5 world but it didn’t give me the fulfillment I craved.
When it comes to fashion; comfort, flexibility and colors come to my mind and that led to the launch of the deo apparel brand.

What should our readers know about your business?
Deo apparel brand is a clothing line birthed out of creativity, passion & comfort.

My brand is made for all categories of individuals, ranging from the older generation, the millennials, the gen z’s, just anyone can wear a deo apparel outfit and this sets us apart from other brands.

I am most proud of how far I have gone in the space of five(5) years and how well I have handled my business.

Resigning from a 9-5 job in 2017, one thing I took out from the cooperate world is structure and I have been able to replicate this into my business and this has helped me get to where I am today.

This has definitely not been easy, but with God, consistency, dedication, commitment & innovation I have been able to overcome the challenges that the business presents.

I have learned to take it one day at a time, not overwhelm myself, take breaks when necessary and be consistent in all I do believing that God will always guide my path.

I want the world to know that I am just getting started and there is so much to this brand that meets the eye, I also want the world to know that deo apparel is here to stay, we would always cater to your free wear options and we are happy to serve you.
Finally it would be great to note that risk taking is a major factor when running a business and you must always be open minded about it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, Lagos is a very large & beautiful place and there are so many exciting spots to visit. So in a week trip I would suggest these options as they are my favorite and most fun places to be;
A place to eat- Talindo or Black pepper in Victoria island, lagos.

A place to drink- Bellagio or Ona in lekki/VI lagos.

To visit, I would suggest Nike art gallery, the landmark beach & Bogobiri.

And finally to hang out- I would recommend Peacock lagos, cinema/movies & Shaunz bar karaoke lounge.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want give a shout out to almighty God for igniting this passion in my heart and guiding me through it all. I want to shout out to my parents Mr & Mrs Sunday Omeke for always supporting my dreams.
I also want to give a shout out to my sister Ms Nnenna omeke for always being there and for supporting all of my crazy ideas towards this business.
Finally I would like to shout out to
Mr Uche Demian Egbule, Ms Margaret Ejimagwa, Mr Joey Ekunwe and so many others for being my greatest support and for always coming through for me. I love you guys so much.
