We had the good fortune of connecting with Chianti Peek and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chianti, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
7 Spiritual Laws of Success It helped me alter my view on the World, made me a better person mentally, kept me focused and on track even though it’s a small book the messages are bigger. Alongside with meditation and life changed for the better.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I think the most thing that I’m proud of is feeding and changing peoples lives meal by meal, I really put my Heart into my food. Of course making Forbes 2020 that was major for a Kid that was born in Charlotte, NC. that made me feel like i won a Grammy for my city and the Black Culinary Community.

How it started? I started cooking around 8 years old, i use to stand beside the stove on top of a stepping stool and watch my Mother and Aunt prepare meals. My Father is the more Creative one he can draw, paint, sing, build you name it he can do it all. He was also a Chef in the prison system doing 20 years for a crime he was wrongfully accused of back in 1984 and now farmer so cooking to heal is pretty much in the DNA, lol. My family and friends inspired me to cook, i found my passion for cooking during one of the darkest times in my life during our first recession, It was Therapeutic for me, I’m also an Artist myself when it comes to painting and drawing like my Father so food helped me use that pain and turn it into art. A Plate became my canvas, Colors of food became the paint and making someone happy after they ate my food was the Garnish for me so i took off from there.

Left my job with the School system in 2008 got into the restaurant industry did a few years there being mentored by some amazing Chefs. 2013-2015 i was working 2 full time jobs trying to build up my brand doing caterings on my off days running off of 2-3 hour naps but i made it happen, then 2015 i became an entrepreneur full time selling plates to everyone in my city, which let to me Cooking for Cam Newton his Super Bowl Season year. Before all of that i use to call myself the “Celebrity Chef” knowing i never cooked for one. Young at age not knowing the power of Manifestation.

I overcame my Challenges by Prayer and faith, i never stopped believing in ME! Even when i was getting kicked while i was down at some points of my life i ate those kicks, forgave myself and those people got up and kept going. Once you come at peace and know that everything that happens to you are Lessons for bigger blessings you can put on cruise control but never take your hands off the Wheel.

I want the World to know that im cooking with a Purpose for a Purpose i don’t do this just because i love it, i do it because i love to make people happy and want to Change lives and Inspire people of all walks of life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
