We had the good fortune of connecting with Cencere and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cencere, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
One of the main reasons I began photography was to apply a style and start trends that aren’t typically seen. I want to change how people perceive the world around them. I have always been interested in different perceptions of the world that can change how others think, act, and feel. Through photography, I am able to show all sides of my perspective and even change other’s perspectives. I have always wanted to show street culture being cohesive with high fashion not being just a trend supporting high fashion. I grew up in Atlanta and a lot of our everyday culture is celebrated as its own entity. I wish to capture this essence, and I think photography is the best avenue to do this.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I honestly just began photography not too long ago and I would say that in that short span of time I have learned a lot. I learned that as a creative you cannot rely on validation and even support a lot of the time. You have to have a true passion for your craft and that is what makes it authentic. Sometimes it is hardest to support and invest in yourself, but once you find your flow and only worry about how you feel about your pieces, happier and more successful you will be. That is what I want my photos to exude; I want the world to know that my brand is about supporting and loving yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love going to little five points so I would definitely have to go there. You’ll meet the most amazing people in that area. Piedmont Park is a must for a nice picnic. Ponce city market is a must-go when visiting the city there is so much around that area. There is Skyline Park at the top which is fun. The Beltline is nice when the sun is setting you can ride scooters and bikes around it’s so much fun. If you come to the city you definitely have to get JJ’s wings.*chef’s kiss* Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out to everyone that continuously supports me and encourages me. The photographer that really helped me with my start is Marvel Marko. He started showing me lighting and everything I needed to know about getting started.
