We had the good fortune of connecting with Celia Reynolds and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Celia, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
My faith is my core value. My relationship with God has taught me to always be fair, never give up, lean on him rather than others, practice balance, and to maintain my integrity regardless of the circumstance.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a fashion Stylist that owns and operates an online boutique and styling company. My brand was birthed to teach women and men how to embrace fashion by choosing the essential clothing to enhance their style.

In today’s society less equals more, but CrissyRey Collection has a mission to debunk that theory. Since my brand is very diverse, it is important to style clients and source quality pieces that are transitional throughout seasons, modest, can be dressed up for work, and dressed down for play. Additionally, I like to lead with exclusivity by providing clients with rare and custom pieces, often pull them away from their comfort zone and traditional color palette. My brand is colorful, unique, and versatile.

Public buy-in on the collection was a challenge when I first started my company in 2016, since most people are comfortable sticking to the social norm of looking like everyone else and shopping at local department stores. To get notoriety I had to step out the box and start styling mannequins at the local department stores. I would leave my business cards with the staff and started getting attention from them. Then, I started working with local photographers, modeling agencies, and local magazine companies to style their clients for photoshoots. I finally got a name for myself when I was featured in a couple of magazines and styled some local celebrities and fashion models.

My journey was not easy, but it was definitely worth it. I learned a lot along the way. I made bad investments, learned who not to buy from, and I felt like giving up a thousand times, but God would not let me and today I am grateful for it all.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the city but there are so many places to explore in Atlanta that I would probably start by taking a walk to get some natural Vitamin D on the Silver Common Trail. Then, I would take my friends to brunch at Atlanta Breakfast Club or the Buttermilk Kitchen. Later, we would go out for more site seeing and shopping at the Shoppes of Buckhead or Fifth Plaza. Later, that evening we would go to the Sundial restaurant for great drinks and view of the city. Lastly, we would go to St. James to listen to some amazing local artists and wind down.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents for helping my siblings and I to develop a strong work ethic and firm spiritual foundation in Christ.
I’d also like to personally thank my mother, because she taught me more about fashion and business fundamentals better than any school could.
My parents owned a viable soul food restaurant and fashion store for over 50 years. A part of my life was dedicated to assisting them run the business by learning to operate the daily functions.
Next, I’d like to thank my husband and children. My children have been the driving force behind my desire to build a legacy. It is important for me to teach them everything that I have learned, so that they can adapt quickly throughout their lives. My husband has been there to back me through it all. I am thankful to have a strong support system, because it takes a village to maintain and stay grounded.
