Meet CeCe Jordan | Puritty at Heart Kreations CEO & Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with CeCe Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CeCe, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
For starters, I’m just a Southern girl from a small college town, at the southeastern tip of Georgia– Statesboro, which is Home to the Champs-Georgia Southern University Eagles! Basically raised on a farm, one of 11 children (8 sisters/2 brothers)—Whew! My father was a self-employed concrete finisher, while my mother worked as a distinguished cook at the local university.

In my childhood, I enjoyed drawing and crafting unique pieces. As well, I always had a strong passion for helping kids at a tender young age—which led to studying to become a teacher.
With over 28 years of experience as an educator, I authored and illustrated several children books while in the classroom. Those who know me would say that I’m a “People Person”— It’s absolutely true that I have never met a stranger, as my mother would often tell me over the years, I entered hundreds of designing contests, simply for my love of drawing.

Throughout my educational career, I became fascinated with creating unique classroom and hallway bulletin boards, which later became a trademark of mine amongst other teachers and educators in many school districts across the state.
My creations whether designing theatrical backdrops for school plays, painting murals on the school walls or decorating award winning floats for parades– always stood out—I inspired to be different in every possible way!

Ultimately a former administrator spoke to me after school one day, asking if I ever considered becoming a graphic designer—at the time, it had never crossed my mind.

As the pandemic continued, I ended the abrupt school year and was led back to my hometown becoming the caretaker of my parents, who are now in their 80s. I didn’t hesitate once to go provide support and assistance to my elderly parents

To make a long story short, while being caretaker, my years of educational adventures, served as a motivator in my sketching of unique designs, Suddenly, it dawned on me that I should seriously pursue becoming a designer of exclusive items, apparel and accessories
After many months of practice, research, and encouraging conversations with my best friend, I decided to step out on faith to pursue becoming a self made millionaire in what I loved best—Creating and Designing!
Thus, many years ago, I was in a car accident and when the car finally stopped flipping, coming to a halt, my bible landed on the page of Matthew 5: 8…the scripture seemed to have been highlighted “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Its powerful significance stayed with me from that very day.
Twenty seven years later, from that precise phrase “pure in heart,” Puritty At Heart Kreations was birthed and I’ve been in awe of the creative niche that flows from within.
It’s my heartfelt vision to share my gifts and talents with the world, concocting high quality, exclusive custom pieces that stand out a cut above, not only for being distinctive and appealing to the eye, but also offer a rich flair of boldness with an extraordinary personality! I absolutely love what I do in making others feel extraordinary through my designs!!

OBSTACLES/CHALLENGES That I’ve Encountered:

Designing in itself has been somewhat easy and I honestly believe that it’s a God given talent. In regards to the business operations, no it hasn’t been smooth. On one hand, I struggled with whether I should continue with pursuing this dream or return back to the one place…my comfort zone, that I have been accustomed to for so many years–the classroom or school environment. Then there was the fact I’d be starting a new chapter in my life!! I didn’t know hardly anything about being my own BOSS nor how to manage as a small business owner. The struggle has equipped me into becoming what I know in my heart to be true–an even stronger and more determined woman! I often tell others that it’s not the size of the dog but instead the “fight” in the dog…ultimately you must decide on how bad you truly want it and act upon it! Write the vision down…make it clear then initiate your plan! But God!!! Through many days and weary nights, God has truly been my rock and my provider…I thank God for everything! Anything is possible when you keep God first and when you B E L I E V E in Yourself!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If the pandemic taught us anything, it is that our favorite restaurant today isn’t guaranteed to be here tomorrow. So with that being said, I would definitely want my Bestie to enjoy our city’s legendary restaurants while we still can…Atlanta has a collection of new and exciting places to try..first up lunch at the Busy Bee, with celebrity photos everywhere, including former President Obama. It’s fried chicken is to die for, with a side of yams and home made macaroni and cheese! Or, if we wanted to dine on the river, for brunch.,…Canoe would be a great choice –It’s luxurious and lodge-like with an incredible dinner menu. We LOVE the pastry basket and that delicious brioche French toast! For entertainment, we would try out The Painted Pin, a really nice place and absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! It’s filled with lots of FUNNNNN games like giant jenga, ski ball, basketball, and bowling…plus on some nights a live band is present. Moreover, we would more than likely attend a music festival event–such as the Atlanta Jazz Festival, Also, since Halloween is approaching—one of Atlanta’s annual favorites is the haunted house. These are only a few favorite Atlanta spots…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I want to thank God for the many gifts He has given me, especially this gift of creativity! For that very reason, I strive to be the artist or graphic designer He has made me to be! In my efforts to be a good steward of these gifts He has given unto me, I understand so well from my SHERO, my beautiful Mother, that it takes work to get better at anything creatively. As a result, at any given moment I find myself practicing my craft. I am a firm believer that my creativity reflects who I am but also who God is! Additionally, I would love to give a huge shoutout to my business mentor,/coach, Mrs. Cassandra Smith, Owner of Blanks Galore University, www.blanksgalore.com. Cassandra “The Coach” as she’s so affectionately known, helps to give me the continued confidence needed to keep pushing my business, Puritty At Heart Kreations, forward to greater heights. I am so grateful and humbly thankful for our Cassy. God led me to be connected to her in September 2019. She once stated that a lot of us have been sitting on our niche. I thought long and deep about that statement, realizing she was absolutely correct. I had been hiding my designing skills for years. Suddenly the light bulb came on–I love designing and it’s been a hobby for many years. Cassandra is always encouraging me as one of her students, to never be fearful of stepping out your comfort zone. Consequently, I decided to step out on faith—and here we are months later!
