We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassidy Bush and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassidy, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
As someone who is extremely right brained, I’ve always found it difficult to have a routine and stick to it. Through opening Skin Sanctuary Co, I feel empowered to embody my brand that’s based around health and wellness and being a habitual, on-purpose human. There’s something about having discipline to stay in a good routine that ultimately makes you feel super human. Little habits everyday that allow you to show up in the world the way you really want to. Meditate daily, journal, stretch/do yoga, spend time in the sun (with SPF on, of course), listen to my favorite music, and religiously do my skincare routine in the morning and night. I’m a big believer in all the little things adding up to create the big things. I succeed when I’m aligned and in-tune with my body, mind and spirit.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My love for aesthetics began when I started playing with makeup when I was in high school. I was the friend doing all my friends makeup for special occasions and prom/homecomings etc. I graduated high school, went to college and dropped out a year later. I felt trapped and suffocated by what I was “supposed to be doing.” As a creative, I was bored and a degree I’d never use sounded like my personal hell. I needed something different, so I moved to Atlanta after I dropped out and was enrolled shortly after at Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics. I was always an artsy gal, so I knew I could get creative in this field as well and I was excited to be a part of something I felt I really aligned with. I sat for my boards after graduating in 2017 and was officially licensed that summer! I knew from the beginning that my end goal was to own my own business, but knew I had to learn the ropes and get my hands in different facets of the industry to see what I’d want to eventually offer in my space. So, that’s what I did. I worked in the medical field of aesthetics, I worked in spas, I did free lance makeup and found my niche in bridal and editorial. It has been a lot of trial and error and soul searching to find what clicked. Now, my studio offers tailored skincare and treatments with a skincare line that functions off of chronobiology. I incorporate some of my favorite things in my offerings – aromatherapy, crystals, breath work, and result-driven treatments. I am, and always will be a makeup artist since she was my first love! Overall, my goal is to foster a high vibrational space where people can come and feel truly heard, grounded, and reconnected with themselves after they leave. My passion lies in making humans feel beautiful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a sucker for a good hike! One of my all time favorites is Preacher’s Rock on the Appalachian Trail. Coffee shops are also my favorite places to go, Chattahoochee Coffee Company on the river being my go-to. Maybe catch a show at the Coca-Cola Roxy after a Braves game. I love spending a sunny afternoon in Downtown Roswell, they have art galleries and a bunch of super yummy restaurants.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I became a Mom last summer to my little angel boy, Rowan. He is the backbone of my “why” and will forever motivate me to be the best version of myself. Mama loves you, baby!
My Mom, for recognizing my talent when I couldn’t see it in myself way back when. She pushed me to explore school for a career I didn’t even know I existed, and has always been such a cheerleader for me.
My Dad, for sending me the song Rock ‘N’ Roll Damnation by AC/DC before I opened and said “I just recently re-found this album. This was part of my early guitar indoc. There is one lyric repeat in here that I didn’t get early; “Take the chance while you still got the choice.” He was referencing them making it in the music biz. Any business owner / entrepreneur should take note of the wisdom and apply it. You get a chance in your 20’s with your own biz to make it with ease in your 40’s. Make the most of it.” He creates soundtracks to my life without realizing it and I love him for it.
My little brother, for being my best friend and one of my all time favorite people on the planet.
And of course, my fiancé, Drew. My rock, my love! I couldn’t be what I am today without him. These are my people, and they all play such key roles in where I am today.
