We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Edge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I design to spread joy.
As an artist, I find joy in creating designs that not only aesthetically please the eye but also evoke a sense of happiness and positivity. What sets my work apart is my dedication to designing for joy, infusing every piece with vibrant colors and uplifting themes. A core aspect of my artistic journey is the commitment to sustainable design, recognizing the responsibility we hold towards the environment. My creations strive to be not just visually appealing but also environmentally conscious, embracing eco-friendly materials and practices.
My professional path has been a rewarding journey. Recently I have been exploring designing for urban spaces and integrating elements inspired by my love for the outdoors. The idea of creating community spaces where anyone can come and feel happiness and contentment while learning about how to incorporate a more sustainable approach to their lives is a big goal of mine. I want to foster a positive connection between people and their environment.
The lessons learned along the way emphasize the importance of adaptability, resilience, and a passion for creating art that resonates with both individuals and the world at large. What I want the world to know about my brand is that it’s not just about aesthetics; it’s a commitment to spreading joy, promoting sustainable practices, and bridging the gap between urban living and the serenity of nature through art.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would show my best friend in Savannah, GA. For a weekend trip, we would first hit one of my favorite coffee shops, Foxy Loxy, for a morning boost of caffeine, and then go to the Forsythe Farmers Market and meet all of my farmer friends, delving into the scrumptious gluten-free pastries and other delectable goodies.
Then we would take a walking tour of the historic city, seeing the wonderful old architecture and beautiful live oak trees. We would grab lunch at the little creperie, Le Gourmet Cafe, and continue seeing the downtown area and best spooky spots. Later we would hit the town and go to Electric Moon for appetizers and drinks, and continue to the nightlife of Savannah, hopping from bar and club, definitely hitting Whitakers and Eclypse.
The next day we would get brunch at The Collins Quarter, wander the boutiques and antique stores, do a picnic lunch at Forsythe, and end the day getting all fancied up, with my college friends, for dinner at Olympia Cafe down on Riverstreet.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my mom, Julie Edge, an entrepreneur and genius life coach. In the tapestry of my life, her presence has been the radiant thread that weaves inspiration, encouragement, and boundless support.
From the earliest days, she and my dad recognized my passion for creation and drawing. With a nurturing touch, they both ensured that I was immersed in the world of art, laying the foundation for a passion that would shape my identity.
As my mentor and advocate, my mom has expertly inspired my writing and drawing skills, fostering a love for books, nurturing compassion for others, and igniting a daily drive to create. Her role extends beyond that of a supportive mom and cheerleader, she also seamlessly blends in her life coaching skills, guiding me through the intricacies of life with grace and wisdom.
I have to say I would not be where I am today if I did not have her in my life. She is a wonderful teacher and role model, and I am so lucky to call her my mom.
