We had the good fortune of connecting with Camelitia Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Camelitia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I enjoy cleaning. It’s so therapeutic to me. So one day I thought, why not start a business doing something that I love to do. And I did just that. At the time, I was working in Property Management as a full-time employee. When I got off work, I would go home and plan everything I wanted to do and do research. Once my mind is set on something, it’s hard for me to stop. I came up with the name, Dream Xtreme Cleaning Services. Seeing it on paper looked even better. When I finally had everything in order, I applied for my business name, made business cards, flyers, got insurance, and started marketing my business.
What should our readers know about your business?
At Dream Xtreme Cleaning Service, we offer a variety of residential and office cleaning services. What sets us apart is that we are not just local, we service over 10 cities in Georgia. We treat our clients like they are family and our customer service is exceptional. We’re even willing to drive a little further which includes a traveling fee. All in all, I’m proud of the growth my business has made and that itself makes it exciting and worth working hard and fighting for. Running a business isn’t always easy but it is rewarding and fun. Challenges have arisen with productivity, scheduling, even trying to make sure you’re not under pricing yourself or over charging. When I started, I even had challenges with meeting some people’s cleaning needs. I learned from my mistakes and since, have grown from them. What I want people to know most about Dream Xtreme Cleaning Services is that, we not only strive to clean your home or office, we strive to make each and every one of them happy and we work hard to make sure that their house feels like a home.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There is so much to do here in Atlanta, where do I begin. A couple of my favorite breakfast spots are Another Broken Egg Cafe, Atlanta Breakfast Club, and Waffle House. LOL You can never go wrong with Waffle House. We would for certain check out these places. The beltline is another great area to hang out. You can walk the trail and try the different restaurants and its pet friendly. We might even get a little crazy and rent a scooter to ride. I’m not much of a nightlife person, but if I were to go out, I’d be sure to take her to lounges, and laid back spots. May even catch a jazz band playing somewhere. Little Five Points is a nice area to check out as well. Small area with lots of place to eat, shopping boutiques, art stores, etc. It’s so much to do in Atlanta, you can’t get bored.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family and friends who have been very supportive and positive. Not everyone gets the kind of support I have. I am appreciative and grateful for them all.
