We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittny Winston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittny, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to became a plus size model because I wanted to do something for me. I didn’t love myself. I didn’t have confidence. I listened to negatively. But, I had to do some soul searching. I had to realize that I’m amazing! I have my confidence back. Taking a leap of faith on me was the best decision I have ever made! Pursuing modeling was the way I found me again.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a plus size model! I mainly focus on body positivity and self love. What sets me apart from others is the fact that when life gets me down, I know how to bounce right back. The road wasn’t always easy though. I was at a very low point in my life. I didn’t think I was worthy of anything. I just didn’t love myself. I felt disgusting. I overcame this by going on a trip to Aruba. Being in Aruba just opened my eyes to the world. That’s where I realized I’m beautiful, confident, and amazing! I originally started modeling in 2014, but stopped because life happened. I became a mother, family issues occurred, and school happened. Then, I started back up at the end of 2020. I’m very proud of where my modeling career is now and I have so much more in store for me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit we would hit up everything! I love to eat, so we would hit up the Breakfast Club, Escobar, O’Charley’s, and Milk & Honey. These are just some of the restaurants I would take my best friend. Then, we would go to the Georgia Aquarium, the Trap Museum, Zoo Atlanta, World of Coca-Cola, Selfie Museum, and Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Plus, we have to add in a nice shopping day at Lenox Square Mall. There’s so much to do here in Atlanta! My best friend would have a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would definitely like to give a shoutout to Aireale Monai. She is the founder of Arita LaShon. I model for her company. Of course I have others that support me and many ways. Like my mother, Vanessa Winston, and my father, Dedrick Winston. But, I want to shoutout Aireale because my modeling career wouldn’t be where it is today without her guidance, wisdom, and support. She is always encouraging me to do more and to dream big. So, thank you Boss Lady! You helped me love me again. Also, I wanted to shoutout my aunt, Morgan Britt. She told me if I was serious about modeling, I needed to hit up Aireale. So, it was my aunt who pushed me to apply for Arita LaShon. Thank you for all that you do. Once again, I’m so blessed and thankful for everyone who supports me and pushes me to do better.
