We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Preston and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Boss Lady Media provides opportunities to local talent to showcase their talent, rather that’s singing, raping, dance, acting, comedy or poetry. We host open mic’s, comedy and other type of events that allow independent artist to gain exposure. We also give our database of actor and actress the opportunity to be in feature & short films that have been shown nationally. Our films our currently available on amazon prime, Tubi and several other streaming platforms. We desire to continually inspire and motivate talent to go after their dreams!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Boss Lady Media is a full service production company. We specialize in writing, directing, casting, producing, filming & distributing short/feature films & plays. We also host several events to provide local talent opportunities to gain exposure. We also provide marketing services like: business cards, websites, posters, commercials, advertising and more!
What sets us apart is that we truly have a heart to help local talent and small business. I do this because I know how it feels to have a dream but feel like it’s going nowhere. I want to see more great talent get discovered!
My pride & joy is our feature film “A Bell Family Christmas.” I’ve produced other films, but this was the 1st film under the Boss Lady Media brand. This film has reached hundreds of thousands of views on Amazon Prime, Tubi and several other streaming platforms. It just warms my heart that people are enjoying something I co-wrote with two of my closest friends Naim Randolph & William “Crucial” Ervin.
I got where I am today because of the favor on my life, working in excellence, not giving up. It definitely has not been easy, there’s been times when I wanted to quit but my reason WHY and the support of others kept me going. I’ve learned several lessons over the last few years like a delay is not a denial, how to quickly adapt to change and communication is key.
I’m very grateful for all my experiences and success. I’m looking forward to doing bigger things and continuing to open doors for others!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
1st Let’s talk about food! Top must eat places: Blankus Luxury Lounge: The best soul food
King Ribs: The best BBQ
Longs Droughts: The best droughts and pastries!
Places to see: The Downtown Canal: a great place to walk, read or write by the water. You can even rent a paddle boat or canoe. Also, see several monuments
The Downtown Circle (especially during christmas time): See the hustle and bustle of the city while sitting by the fountain or enjoy the shops and eatery places.
Some fun places: Pinheads, Duckpin bowling, press play lounge and must catch an open mic or comedy show!
In Atlanta: The MLK Museum, Olympic park, the Ferris wheel & Tredericks seafood
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
1st I’d like to thank God for all of the success and opportunities we’ve had! Next I want to shout out my mom, Jeannie Preston who has always encouraged me to pursue my dreams! Next i’d like to shout out the person that 1st introduced me to the world of Independent Film, my acting coach, the G.O.A.T Tijideen Rowley! Lastly but not least, I have to shout out my talent, my production team, support system and anyone that has ever helped with any production, show or event especially Tina Harris, Dwuna Henton & Heather Strain! Love you all!
