Meet Brennan McGoldrick | Business Broker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brennan McGoldrick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brennan, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
The most important thing that I’ve done to impact my children is to lead them by example. I want my children to see me work really hard and do their best to replicate that behavior. When school is hard or life throws them a curveball, I hope they reflect back on the notion that hard work will help them overcome their obstacles. I want them to see me treat people with fairness, kindness, and honesty and mimic those traits, whether that is in their personal or future professional lives.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my professional career as a private practice veterinarian. After practicing for a few years I decided to further my education by going back to business school to earn an MBA. I found business school to be as inspirational as it was educational, so I decided to own my own veterinary practice. I bought the business, subsequently sold it with the help of a business broker, and realized how much I enjoyed the process of business sales. That long, winding road is what led me to where I am today.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite part about Atlanta are its sports teams. I’d take anyone in town to a Falcons game or a Hawks game to really experience the heart of Atlanta. I think those events really highlight the diversity that makes Atlanta great.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d dedicate my Shoutout to the friends who supported my career change. I went to school for a long time to become a veterinarian, and to switch careers completely after a decade in practice was an intimidating move. I appreciate those who stuck by me even when they thought I was crazy.
