We had the good fortune of connecting with Blake Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blake, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I spent a lot of time being an observer of my life and waiting for the right situation to show up. I finally realized I needed to make a commitment to my current career and I almost immediately startled defining my life and career once I eliminated any choices.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We have grown to be the largest piano dealer in Atlanta because we care about our customers. I started when i was 10years old and i worked in our store in every capacity. I remember how my grandfather would talk to customers and he knew their neighbors and where they went to school. We have always treated customers like they were family and they knew we cared more that just the sale.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Atlanta and I have seen it grow and change over the years and become the best city in the US. My best friend Charlie came to town and I took him to the Club at Chops for a good cigar and the best food in town. We had the greatest time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe everything I have in my life to the friendly cooperation of other people. Being in a family business requires a lot of love and patience.. The most important people are our customers then the employees and finally our family members. This concept takes a while to understand and surrender to. I think I owe the most to working for my father. I learned what to do and maybe more importantly, what not to do.
