We had the good fortune of connecting with Bindiya Gandhi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bindiya, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Balance is so important especially once I became a mother. Being career minded, independent and an entrepreneur is hard on it’s own but adding motherhood to the mix takes the journey to whole other level. This is even more evident now that we are in a pandemic and we are working from home with our kids at home. Combining work, life, home balance is the key to an overall balanced life. Before kids, I was a work-a-holic, taking on more projects, working when I got home into the night. Now I want to spend time with my children when I come home. I work when they’re sleeping if I’m working from home. Time in valuable, and the energy and influence I have on my young kids now is profound. So spending quality time with them is extremely important for me but it is hard but because it also takes away from my business and patients sometimes. I’m grateful to have my own business to set my own schedule to be able to see patients virtually or in office when I want and to be able to also spend time with my kids to raise and stimulate them they way I see is important.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m an integrative & Functional Medicine Doctor. I do things Differently than conventional doctors. I’m double board certified in Integrative Medicine as well as Family Medicine. My job is to get to the root cause of medical problems. I don’t just prescribe medication. I evaluate the person from different angles including gut health, hormone imbalance, toxicity and more. I incorporate Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, nutrition and supplements to come up with a comprehensive treatment plan. It’s a very different dynamic, lifestyle approach with long term results.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Lots of things to do in Atlanta but we have been limited during the pandemic. I’m really particular about making sure we are safe since I have two young kids at home and we have already been exposed to covid (my 2 babies, husband, both mothers and father in law) But when things were different:

Favorite Brunch Spot: Sun in my Belly Favorite (From their service to delicious farm to table foods, it’s the best).

Favorite Lunch restaurant: Bartaco (Their lettuce tacos are great).

Favorite Dinner Restaurant: True Food kitchen (We love their crudites.

We love walking Piedmont park or the beltline with the kids and our dog. That’s relaxing and is always fun.

Touristy spots: GA aquarium & the zoo because both kids and adults love it.

Work out either at Barre 3 North Druid Hills or Red Hot Yoga.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband has been my rock from day one when I told him I wanted to open up my own practice. I couldn’t have done anything without his help, support and love. Same goes with my family. For the days I needed my mothers’ help, both my mom and mother-in-law were there watching my girls so I could stay longer at the office to take care of things. The support of my family is the reason I am where I am today and I’m beyond grateful for them!
