We had the good fortune of connecting with Big Homie Tyni and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Big Homie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is taking risks. If you don’t take risks & you stay in your comfort zone, you will never get anywhere. Life is a risk.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What sets me apart from other is; I’m not paying attention to what other people are doing, I just do what I do. I perform different from all of the new women I have seen perform coming up in this industry. I got to where I am by simply stepping outside of my comfort zone. I never knew I would be doing music. This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in life because you have to mask whatever feelings you are feeling at the moment & smile. The lessons I’ve learned along the way are; don’t let your guard down with everybody & Live your life & have fun. Don’t worry about what people might think. Screw them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was coming to my city, Monday we’re going to R&B Night at Encore. Great vibes in there so we can relax and sing, smoke hookah and drink a little. Tuesday, we’re gonna kick it up a notch and go to Elleven45 & turn up. Wednesday, we can do whatever for the next 2 days, like go shopping, then Friday, the whole city is lit for the weekend. We can do a picnic or just chill on Saturday and then Sunday we can go to a waterfall and get in the water, bring a speaker for the music & vibe out.
