We had the good fortune of connecting with Bianca Brochu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bianca, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I kid you not… I took a nap one day, and when I woke up my fiancé (boyfriend at the time) had already made me a logo for Bee and The Bottle. He was the one who saw my passion for the world of wine and really pushed me to start my own business and brand.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Bee and the Bottle has a fun, laidback approach to the wine world. Whether you are celebrating a birthday, planning a girls’ night, or needing a beautiful charcuterie board to-go, we are the wine brand for you. We specialize in interactive wine tastings that are completely catered to your preferences. If you like sweet wine, I will provide a variety of sweet wines; however, I will also introduce you to off-dry wines that you never knew you would love. Our mission is to expose more people to and educate more people on the art of wine. We understand that wine education can cost hundreds of dollars and is not easily accessible; therefore, we provide this education, along with a great time, at a significantly lower price. Bee and the Bottle is a client-centered wine brand, and we will ensure that each of our clients have a memorable experience.I have learned many lessons! One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to keep the same energy for each booking (even if you’re exhausted or “not feeling it that day”). I chose this job, and it is important for each wine tasting to be exceptional; that starts with me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area we know there is only one chef to “dine” with— Chef JRob. So, I would ask my fiancé to cook us a nice brunch, and then we would head to Ponce City Market to grab a drink and just walk around people watching. We might go have a spa day as well! My best friend knows I rather stay in…so, it’s going to be a movie night for sure. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The support from my clients has been overwhelming in the best way possible. My success is theirs to share as well. I also have to thank my fiancé, Justin, for giving me the push I needed.
