We had the good fortune of connecting with Beleshia “Lyrical” Mcculley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beleshia “Lyrical”, how do you think about risk?
For me I actually stepped out on faith about 12 years ago. I left my corporate America Job of being a case manager for At&t and started working in the music business. That risk was huge for me! Doing that allowed me to have freedom in life and control my own mind. I developed a closer trusting relationship with God. It’s been challenging to say the least but well worth it in the end. I’m prayerful that my success has created hopes for others who are scared to take a leap to trust their gut which is actually God and do it. If I did it, you can as well. Strategize a plan and go forth with your plan. Do not second guess yourself. My daddy always says, nothing beats a failure but a try kiddo.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
By being in the music industry for over a decade now, this industry and the people in it keep me on the up and up. I love my career although it gets very challenging at times. What rewards me is when I see people I have worked with past and present still doing their thing. That right there made everything worth it. I’ve helped so many artists along the way and that is what has kept me busy as hell. I worked hard to push them to greatness if they allowed it. I think what sets me apart from the most is that I am not in this business for music. I am in this business to save one soul a day by pushing them toward their purpose and forcing them to get out of their own way. Again that keeps me BUSY!!!!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hmmmmmm if my friend came to town, I would have us hop back on a flight and go to Cali, rent a car and a fly ass airbnb. We would first go to Malibu and just enjoy the scenery along with the food. The fresh air would be enough for me and then you KNOWWWWWW we are hitting the stores…… I actually just love California, the food, rodeo drive, just everything would be a complete vibe. Mental peace is everything.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I really would like to shoutout to my team at Lyrical Eyes Management #LEM. They have kept me grounded from the time this ship actually took sail. They never left my side, always encouraging and pushing me to help me push them. My children as well. Ashlee and Camari are my entire heartbeats and the only ones whoever heard my heart from the inside, HELL LOL my entire family, parents included. They have just been my driving factor of why I can’t just be someone’s woman at home cooking, or a mother working a job that’s not flourishing my mind. Shout out to God Period!!!!
