We had the good fortune of connecting with Auntie Loren and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Auntie, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal is to open a brick and mortar or. Food truck for both my catering business, and for my Wing and Waffle Factory business. It is very important for me to partake in ownership because I have never experienced what it’s like even though I’ve always dreamt of it.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a caterer, and I also own a wing business that I am hoping to move into a food truck by this summer. I started out cooking in the Army back in 2008, and once I got out I tried to find other things to do, but ended up right back at cooking. Cooking is therapeutic to me just being in the kitchen creating meals, or making food videos for my followers to see. I am very determined to rise above the child hood, and early adult lifestyle I lived to become a successful food business owner.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Of course I would cook for them! If I didn’t feel like cooking I would definitely take them to Kelz Kitchen in Downtown Atlanta, they have some of the best American and soul food. After we eat we are hitting up the aquarium or the zoo, because I think animals are beautiful creatures to learn from plus Atlanta has the best zoo and aquarium. Lastly would be the Ferris wheel especially at night…it’s beautiful! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family (Husband and 3 kids) are my driving force everyday. They are always motivating and pushing me, and supporting me whether it’s helping me edit my food videos, giving me food ideas, or just speaking life and love into my goals.
