We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Rose Nicholas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley Rose, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
When I decided to pursue a career in the arts it felt like following this feeling of just knowing. Storytelling has always been second nature to me so I honestly couldn’t imagine myself pursuing anything else. My family was always supportive of my dreams and instilled a never ending hunger to go for what I want so when I dove head first into my creative endeavors making it a career wasn’t an option… it was my end all be all. The arts is a magnificent space that has the power to change people in multiple regards. It gave me the freedom to explore different perspectives I may not necessarily have thought of or even experienced in life yet. Art has the power to make empathy contagious. That is all I’ve ever wanted to use my gifts for. If I can make Atleast one person feel less alone and understood then I’ve fulfilled my calling.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
A huge realization I had in my career is that the minute I stopped asking permission and trying to fit in a box of what I THOUGHT people wanted I attracted opportunities that truly resonated with my spirit. Growing up I was picked on a lot for being different but in the end being different is exactly why I am where I am today. I’ve modeled for vogue, Nike, Ulta beauty and more but I have a strong feeling it has less to do with just my looks and more to do with my light and authenticity as a person. That’s a huge staple of my brand and career. I will always remain true and authentic to myself and my art. Whoever resonates with my vibe will come. Whatever is for me will never pass me by.

Some of my other accolades include doing a commercial featuring g herbo, Liza koshi and Becky G that was featured on Michelle Obama’s page, modeling for international magazines like Malvie, Picton, Vogue Italia, I-D Vice and many many more. While I am killing it in the modeling world acting/telling peoples’ stories is my calling so please stay tuned for my debut in the upcoming year. I’m super blessed and excited that I get to share my talents with the world and they’re received so well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I were to show my bestie around it would go a little something like this:

“I don’t know what you THOUGHT you were doing this weekend but scratch all that out because we’re about to get crunk. Okay. Okay. Hear me out. First we’re going to a day party on a boat along the Hudson with mimosas and vibes. Then we’ll have a mid day trip to the spa because.. you deserve it sis. I know you’ve been going through it it’s all good. Take a short nap then I’m calling over a makeup artist to beat our faces to the gods, we’ll get dolled up, then we’ll have a night on the town and dance the night away. If we could get some crab legs in this jawn that’d be icing on the cake too. You only live once right?”

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a huge shout out to my mother, father, sister and immediate family. Ever since I was a small fry they told me I could do anything I set my mind to and picked me back up when I felt like giving up. Without you guys I wouldn’t be the woman I am today. I love you.
