We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley, Maya, Oneya, and Renee Rosé and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, Maya, Oneya, Renee Rosé, why did you pursue a creative career?
The impact of the pandemic changed everyone’s lives, including ours. As ambitious women with busy careers and businesses, we were missing out on girls night out dinners, happy hours, shopping and spa days, and other fun activities, where we had girl talk, caught up on everything happening in life, and could just let lose and be ourselves. With this altered element of our lives, we decided we should add to our skill set by embarking on a fun and challenging creative endeavor. We have a vast amount of skill sets between the four of us and a video podcast would be a fun venture to force us out of our comfort zone while unlocking more of our creative potential. We are all smart, successful, and driven women with opinions and knowledge. While the podcast gives everyone else insight into our personalities, it was the perfect entrepreneurial endeavor for us as a friend group.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Podcasting is an art of expression, and we wanted our video podcast to be different by not just expressing our opinions on current social weekly news. Rather, we have broken our podcast into categories: Social Chat Files, Girl Code Files, Relationships Files, Fan Files, and X-Files, allowing us to give our audience specific focuses of each episode which may still touch on some hot topics, but allows us to express and discuss life skills, experiences, thought processes, and actions. We are still new on the podcast scene, so we face the challenges of obtaining new fans, perfecting the structure of the show, and producing the show in totality; however, we do not allow these challenges to discourage us from continuing. As mentioned previously each of us have a vast variety of skills sets. In addition to having careers, each of us ladies are individual entrepreneurs. This aids us in overcoming and addressing these challenges, as we leverage skillsets obtained to further develop the podcast. Whether it is Maya utilizing her career knowledge to give impactful and useful advice to our viewers, Renee Rosé utilizing her marketing and development capabilities to refine the aesthetics of the show, Oneya bringing in new energy and ideas, Ashley handling show logistics, or all the ladies utilizing marketing tips they acquired from their businesses to create engaging social media posts, challenges may arise but the ladies handle them head on to overcome each and every one. We have learned that while all of us strive to be almost near perfect, podcasting is a journey and we will only get better with time, consistency, maintaining strong drive, and supporting each other both in and outside of the podcast. We want the world to know that these are four strong, independent, beautiful black ladies who can do anything they set out to do both individually and collectively.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A week in Atlanta with a friend would consists of many different hot spots. We would begin with activities visiting Mastermind Escape Games, Ironmonger Brewery for Axe Throwing, the Battery for a wide array or activities and shopping, and The Painted Duck. For places to eat, drink and hang out, over the week we would visit Velvet Taco Midtown, Pasha, Blue Martini, Cru, Whiskey Blue, Kabob Land South City Kitchen Buckhead, Barcelona, and the Atlanta Breakfast Club. Depending on the time of year they are visiting the area, we would visit concerts, expos, and sporting events such as Birthday Bash, ATL Women’s Expo, and Falcon/Hawk games taking place at major venues such as the Georgia World Congress Center, Mercedes Benz Stadium, or State Farm Arena.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to dedicate our shoutout to our parents and families who have supported and encouraged us to do whatever we have wanted in life and helped us become the women we are today. We want to shout out our friends who are supporting us on this new adventure and even participating in one way or another. We want to thank our fans both day ones and upcoming for giving us the opportunity to grow into great podcasters entertaining them on a weekly basis. We would like to shoutout our individual businesses (Envy Kurves, Maya’s Masterpiece, Eye_Am_Incense, and Off The Market Branding), as by partaking in the podcast, we take time away from our businesses to build the joint podcast venture. Finally we want to give a shout out to each other, because without one another this podcast would not have made it to where it is today, and it would not continue to grow into the success it has the potential for.
