We had the good fortune of connecting with Asheena Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Asheena, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My initial thought was ‘I want to work for myself and create opportunities for people who have a difficult time finding a job.’ However, it now includes, ‘I can now leave something for my kids to grow into and call their own one day; or inspire them to begin their own.’
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
All Things Beeswax & More is a candle company that uses natural waxes and beautiful scents to fragrance all spaces. It is different from other companies because of the benefits of the beeswax, in the ways that it is used (typically on the warmer). The one thing that I am most proud of is the progress I have made. At one point, I did not expect my brand to be as popular as it is, even though I continuously hoped that it would be. But, it wasn’t all easy. The hardest part, is keeping hope when it doesn’t seem like things are going the way you would like. Things slow down sometimes, and it can become discouraging; but with enough faith, good support, and determination, anything is possible. Along the way, I’ve learned that there is ALWAYS room for improvement, no matter what it is. I want the world to know, when you get something from my brand, you are sure to love it. I hand make everything, I test everything, and I speak positive over everything I make. So, when you open a package, from me, and you feel relaxed, happy, excited, know that, that is my intention for you. The reviews my customers leave, are real and true. Believe the hype! Come join the hype!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My children and my customers. They keep me motivated to keep doing what I am doing. My customers let me know if I’m not moving right, and they always offer tips for improvement. My children make sure I know that I’m doing a great job with what I do.
