We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Behimer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My career in hospital pharmacy has always been fulfilling—I love the science, the patients, and the challenges. But at 27, a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) rocked my world and shifted my focus.
Suddenly, managing my own health became not just about what conventional medicine had to offer, but also about learning what else I could be doing to feel confident I was doing everything in my power to feel my best and prevent progression. I immersed myself in functional and lifestyle medicine, seeking ways to complement traditional treatments with holistic approaches. It was a personal quest for a vibrant, fulfilling life despite my diagnosis.
What I discovered through working with my first coach was transformative. Mindset shifts and upgrades to my everyday habits not only improved my physical health but also my mental and emotional well-being. This realization ignited a passion to share this knowledge with others facing the earth-shaking experience of an autoimmune diagnosis.
The decision to start my own coaching business, Amy Behimer Coaching, was clear. I saw a gap that needed to be filled—I couldn’t find resources that married the health of the mind with the health of the body in a way my autoimmune-self craved. I knew my experience, education, certifications, and first-hand account of thriving with a chronic, neurodegenerative, progressive disease like MS made me the person to create it.
My coaching program is designed to empower individuals to move beyond managing an autoimmune disease to creating autoimmune health. It’s about feeling great today and building resilience for tomorrow, no matter the diagnosis.
Through my podcast, “The Habit Hub for Autoimmune Health™️,” I share stories, strategies, and the latest research to bridge the gap between lifestyle and conventional medicine. I’m here to be that voice, advocating for a comprehensive approach to health, and to let people know that making healthier habits should feel good, so it’s for good.
I also partner with healthcare providers to help them help their patients by supporting them to make lifestyle changes proven to do their mind and body good. Imagine the peace of mind that comes from knowing they have the support they need to eat better, move more, stress less, connect deeper, and so much more? All of which create autoimmune health.
What keeps most people stuck when it comes to creating autoimmune health is overwhelm and confusion on where to start. I’ve created a free quiz for anyone with an autoimmune diagnosis who is ready to feel healthy again. Personalized results delivering the what, why, and how of your #1 habit to make (or break) to create energy and change the course of disease. Find it at www.amybehimercoaching.com/quiz
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a doctor of pharmacy, nationally board-certified health & wellness coach, and person living with MS, my mission is to help people diagnosed with autoimmune disease use it as a catalyst to become healthier than ever before. Mind and body health. My unique blend of education, experience, certifications & trainings led me to create what I needed and what is missing for everyone living with a diagnosis who just wants to know they are doing everything in their power for their health. My coaching offers up my “secret sauce” to health with any disease. I promise to deliver on these 5 S’s…
1. SCIENCE-backed information, on what creates healthier minds and bodies
2. an invitation to learn and lean into themSELVES and what makes them unique
3. ongoing, unmatched, unwavering, affordable SUPPORT. I’m with you every step of the way. Autoimmune disease is often for life and so support to create autoimmune health should be, too.
4. real-life STRATEGIES to make changes in a way that feel good so it’s for good.
5. Less confusion and overwhelm on all the health info (and misinformation out there) by making health SIMPLE, answering the what, why, and (most importantly how) to feel better.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh, so many! How much space do we have? Kidding.
My inner circle of unwavering love and support — Ben, Mom, & Lisa, listening to every idea, win, defeating moment and replay of the thoughts swirling around in my head.
My first ever coach who challenged me to shift my beliefs around what was possible for my health and my life.
My clients, who inspire me to get better and better everyday, knowing they are trusting me to help them feel like themselves again, autoimmune disease and all.
My multiple sclerosis, because learning to accept and even love my MS gives me confidence I can accept anything that life has in store for me.
My faith in God and knowing my purpose is to serve others.
The best friends and family a girl could ask for.
