We had the good fortune of connecting with  Chef Lex of Golden Touch Cuisine LLC. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chef Lex, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My first thought was bringing a different concept of food to my hometown of Aurora,IL. I also knew I could not work as a restaurant manager for much longer!

I began by selling to-go plates of food and Meal preps for people with dietary or health issues. Once I made the choice, my business was booming from the start! It was a high demand for the services that I offered and once I left the manager position, I added Private dinners and catering and it was UP from there!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Each client is special to me and I love to treat everyone as such. When people taste my food they ALWAYS come back for me. I like to cook with many different spices, herbs and fusions from other cultures such as Mexican or Japanese. I am most proud of my growth and elevation.

I move very fearlessly and have became a traveling Chef, which has allowed me to enjoy my love of travel and food together!

The journey is never easy but always worth! I have ran into many road blocks, learning as you go can be very hard. Being shy and getting out of my shell was the biggest thing! Over the years I have learned that networking and who you know can help ease the pain of the journey!

The world will know Chef Lex as a fearless, hardworking business owner that is willing to help everyone learn about eating balance meals, using different herbs and spices to elevate your cooking. I have many other business ventures to come but this is a great start to my career.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friend comes to town I would take her to any food halls especially Ponce City Market! H&F burger have the besttttt fries and ketchup! Along with the Famous black owned Slutty Vegan! Ponce city Market would be a whole day adventure then we can start the next day bike or scooter ride at one of the many trails around the area.
Hanging out at the battery for drinks and sweets is a must! Visiting the many selfie museums in Atlanta will be our favorite but getting out of the heat and in the air conditioning will probably be our happiest moments! lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my family! My family have been my biggest supporters and help! I can’t not imagine my success without them! Every share, every like, every shoutout, all my family treats my business as a business of their own. I’m always getting amazing advice and connections through my family. I am forever grateful!
