We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Beano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Ive thought about giving up many of times. In fact I had walked away from music for the last 3 years to focus on life. There was a time I didn’t think life would come together enough to give my music the right time and energy needed. I went through a lot of highs and lows to get to were i’m at now. Honestly I think thats what makes it worth it in the end and why I continue to not give up. Every success story I herd growing up they had always talked about the hardships and how there was a point where it could of made them or break them, but they decide to push through. I think thats were I am now. Understanding what i’ve been through the last few years wasn’t meant to stop me but help me understand how much this music is needed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One thing I can say about my art is that its organic and every thing comes from the heart and soul. I think one of the things im proud of is being able to put music out at a high level. Ive put out over 2o tapes and thats not easy to do at a high level. From me doing all the art,the beats, producing the tape, to promotion and even writing which makes every tape special. Over time i had to learn all these things if I wanted to be successful in music which was a challenge at first but one thing about me is I love the process, the grind, and also just the love for music in general . I dont think theres nothing better then you planting a seed, starting a project, or idea and watching it grow into something amazing. Currently I am set to release a single on Feb 14. This will be my first music i’ve put out in three years . Its called Keep In Touch featuring Chase Aaron & WeslyNorth.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Right now one of my favorite spots in the city is the Chattahoochee river by my crib. I go there often in the spring/summer time but its cold right now lol. I don’t really have any favorite spots in the city as i dont go out much anymore. One of my favorite food spots at the moment is Hot Cafe over on Riverdale rd. Good thai food if u into that.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a Shoutout to God first for giving me this opportunity to tell my story. Second I would like to Shoutout my family for giving me support and not allowing me to give up on this dream. I also would like to give a shoutout to Dee for being there for me. She has really been by my side these last few years. The support she has giving me, the positive spirit she has , to always being there for others and being there for me as well through some highs and lows I really have nothing but good things to say about this great person. You don’t meet to many people like that in life so im thankful. Last but not least shoutout to my close friends for always encouraging me to get back to music and checking on me. Yall the realest.
