We had the good fortune of connecting with Ajia’Marie Leonard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ajia’Marie, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m originally from Downtown Riverside, California. Growing up in California introduced me to many different things in life. I went to very diverse schools and had a diverse group of friends. I believe this impacted me the most because I was able to see life from different prospectives & it helped to mold my mind to always be open to learning. Life & people aren’t always the stereotypes we believe them to be. As a young entrepreneur that is critical to understand. It helps me to be able to connect with my supporters & customers , to understand what they need and/or desire all in a budget that doesn’t break their bank. It also helps me network and provide amazing customer experiences that is unmatched by any other. Everyone just wants to be comfortable in life. My business takes all that into consideration. I am creating an affordable luxury brand , an affordable modeling agency , & a talking on a public speaking journey to help others with their mental stability to never give up.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a business owner of several different upcoming companies that are all in some way unique in its own way is the most exciting part of all I do. Yes , I’ve modeled (and still dabble in modeling here & there) , I work a very nice corporate job , I’m in school , but of all I do being a CEO really makes me happy.
My brand , B.Rose’s House Of Enchantment, is not just a upcoming luxury clothing brand but will also include a purse & glasses line designed by me. Everything is personally designed and hand picked. This brand is special to me because it’ was actually created in dedication to my late mother , Beverly Rose. She passed away October of 2020. I took her passing extremely hard but I wanted to make her proud. She didn’t get to see me graduate college, get married , or even have kids but I wanted be sure that everyone gets to appreciate her name & help it live on. I created this brand in December of 2020 & it will finally launch December 13th of this year ! The hardest part of working on this business was finding the strength to push through without her. I can’t describe the pain of living life without the one who motivated & helped shape you but working on this has helped me through it.
I also have an upcoming Modeling Agency , Queen’s Modeling, that will launch summer of 2023 & have decided to start my own mental health services. I’m going to school for my psychology degree. I plan to be a mental health public speaker. This was inspired but all the challenges I’ve faced through out my life.
Becoming a model & business owner has never been easy. My journey from the start was very hard. Mentally , I was not in the right space to start doing any of this. I was only 18 when I started & faced challenges that range from really bad relationships to almost the entire city bashing me when I started modeling. I didn’t have very much support in the beginning. I modeled for several years , perfecting my craft, before deciding on becoming a business owner. I let the doubts and things I went through push me to go harder because I knew I had to prove everyone wrong. Not only that , Modeling became my passion.
I believe my origin story is what makes me different. My will to fight to be successful makes me different. My genuine love and passion for my brands makes me different. I’ve put my literal all into what I do & because of that I’ve met so many stars , done interviews , hostings , special appearances , video shoots , & so much more. I’m blessed to be where I’m at but I do believe this is only the beginning. If I could give any upcoming creatives or CEOs advice , never stop dreaming , never stop believing , & continue to perfect you and your craft even if you are doing it alone !
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you plan on staying at a hotel , I love staying at Twelve Downtown , Westin , or The W Downtown. These 3 hotels were amazing each time I’ve stayed in them from the beautiful suites to the customer service.
I highly recommend going to Cirque Blu Seafood House. I fell in love with that restaurant my first time going. The vibes are amazing & the food is delicious. I also love The Sugar Factory for their drinks. They have some of the best and most creative drinks I’ve had. I also love J.R Crickets in Midtown Atlanta & Atlantis.
During the day , I’d recommend going to the Georgia Aquarium , Atlanta Zoo , or some of the day brunch clubs such as Cafe Circa or Sunday Brunch Atlanta.
The night life is really exciting. There are so many things to do and places to go. I personally love to go to the strip clubs like Blue Ivory , Onyx , & Blue Flame.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My story has many heroes in it. Though I would love to credit just me , my current support system is amazing. There are also others no longer in my inner circle that at one point helped to motivate, inspire, & push me to never stop. I want to thank my spouse , Sincere, because he sees everything that the rest doesn’t get to see. The stress , the tears , good and ugly he is right there always reminding me to never stop. I also want to thank my personal assistant Shara. With out her my businesses definitely wouldn’t be as far as had made it. She’s amazing in all she does. Lastly , I want to thank the friends , ambassadors, & fellow business owners who continue to support and stick with me through every change.
