We had the good fortune of connecting with Adriannea Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adriannea, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with my business Standby With Adrie by wanting to a way to share my travel stories as well as share my favorite travel tips with my audience! I wanted to create more in depth posts for others to be able to read about my whole experience instead of a snippet of it!
For my second business The Doggish Life I came up with the idea after my experience working in veterinarian clinics and having clients ask me about what proper toys and treats should their dog get! The Doggish Life dog subscription box was born to save pet parents a lot of time because I do the research for them and all of my treats are all natural with no harmful ingredients!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Standby With Adrie is here to inspire people to see the world and to live a fulfilling life! I want to continue to show people that they don’t have to break the bank to travel the world. With my background entailing flying standby due to my parents being in the airline business, I have a lot of knowledge to share that I think would help benefit others.
The Doggish Life’s goal is to help dog’s live their best doggish life. I wanted to give back to help rescue dogs and pet parents in need, which is why with every purchase made I donate a portion back to organizations that help with rescue animals.
I am most proud about the community I have built around my brands. I absolutely love getting to know people and this has been a great positive outlet especially during the pandemic! It hasn’t always been easy launching a brand in a pandemic but the people I have met along the way have made it all worth it!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I started my things to do in Atlanta series on TikTok because there are so many cool places to check out! We would definitely hit up brunch at Atlanta Breakfast Club or Milk and Honey. Atlanta brunch life is definitely a thing and you can’t visit here with out participating in it!
We would also visit the belt line and look at all the cool murals and grab a bowl at Playa Bowls !
To end the week, we would drive to Chateau Elan and have a winery day! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my mom & dad for encouraging me to think big & work hard for what I want! Also, shoutout to Transformation Church & The Dream Center Atlanta for putting out sermons through the pandemic that has helped stay encourage.
