We had the good fortune of connecting with Abbigale Comfort and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Abbigale, thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started?
A bit about me,
I am the Creative Director and Founder of Be of Good Comfort Design studio. I come from a Corporate Marketing and Advertising background working at one of North America’s largest advertising agencies on large campaigns. In early 2011 I felt God calling me out of corporate marketing and into entrepreneurship. It was not an easy decision to leave a cushy corporate job but through much prayer, I choose to be obedient.
In 2015 I opened my digital doors and launched Be of Good Comfort Designs.
A premium branding agency that focuses on enhancing the visual presence of women-led brands. Since then I have helped numerous female bosses to bring their visions and dreams to life.
When I started Be of Good Comfort Designs I met so many passionate women with amazing business concepts that would never see the light of day because they lacked the confidence, expertise, or direction to get their business idea off the ground and increase visibility.
I strongly believe that great branding doesn’t just “happen”…it’s done on purpose. At Be of Good Comfort Designs, we pride our sleeves on achieving the best results for our clients I do this by infusing strategy and design. This combination primes their brand for the next level of thought leadership and increased income, that our clients crave to experience.
I am excited that I get the opportunity to use my unique background to help women create impactful visual experiences and websites that not only support the big dreams they have for their business but also allow them to run it with ease.
What would you say gives you the most fulfillment as it relates to your business?
What fuels my passion when it relates to business is “Making a Meaningful Impact”.
Being able to serve others through my skills, gifts, and talents is an honor. My clients are movers and shaker and their stories and their business are changing lives and impacting their communities.
But there’s one problem, they feel stuck. They don’t know how to get their message across in a way that makes people take notice, they don’t know how to position themself as a person of authority in their industry, they lack strategy and an online presence that sets them apart.
This is where I come in. My Agency Be of Good Comfort Designs was created with a vision and purpose to serve those who are already serving. I love helping to bring my client’s visions to life and seeing their confidence grow as they witness the power of strategy and intentional design.
Since starting my business my mission has been to raise the bar for women entrepreneurs to operate in their gifts, lead with impact, and build powerhouse brands with purpose and influence.
My clients inspire me and I aim to help them inspire others.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, my hometown is Toronto (the city where Drake is from). I would definitely take my friend Downtown Toronto, It’s always a vibe there, especially in the warmer months.
Best restaurants, best shopping, best views. I’m big on experiences and meeting new like-minded people so I love exploring my city and finding hidden “Gems” new places to eat that may not be as popular but the food is off the chain. Going to local pop-up art exhibits and shows.
I often check out sites like Meetup.com / Facebook Groups to find out what popup events are happening in the city.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Last but not least, I wanna thank me, I wanna thank me for believing in me {Snoop Dogg Voice}.
LOL Nah, all jokes aside. There are a few people that have played a role in me realizing my full potential.
Shout out to Nana, founder of Dove of Hope International Charity. Nana was my first paying client. When I was fresh out of college I was faced with a catch 22 situation. Can’t get a job because I had no experience, but can’t gain experience because no one will give me a job in my field of study”. I was very appreciative of the opportunity and it helped to build my portfolio. A few years later I was able to land a job at one of the Top 5 Advertising Agencies in the country.
Next, I would definitely say investing in a coach specific to my industry. Having that support, guidance and community has been vital and has also played a big role when it comes to my mindset.
But hey, Snoop Dogg did have a point there lol we still have to give ourselves props for not giving up and putting in that work. lol
