Meet Ted Jackson: School Counselor & Owner/Operator of G Spot Creations, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ted Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ted, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I believe showing them the importance of family is the most important thing I have done as a parent. Even though I have shown them the value of hard work within your own business, they recognize that I place family above that as well. We are the Jackson 6 and each member support one another in any necessary manner. Hopefully, they will always exhibit the desire to develop family as they begin to have families of their own.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My passion for fashion begin years ago as a young tyke in East Point, GA. I wanted to be best dressed out of everyone in the room at all times. I read GQ, Vogue, and Essence magazine on regular to stay abreast on all new trends throughout high school. At that time I was working a job in fast food and could buy my own clothes and accessories. I began riding MARTA to Lenox Mall were the high end stores were located so I could see and feel the brands that I read about and saw in the magazines. That is where I developed my style and love of different textures, patterns, and quality of materials.

Today, I incorporate that into the design of custom hats. My company is G Spot Creations. We create custom designed hats adorned with carefully selected decor that inspire undeniable individuality! A hat will speak to your spirit when worn, and we know that our unique one of kind design allow you to express your own personal style. Our brand promotes confidence through #tangibleswag!

This have been an humbling experience for me as well. I believe the most difficult thing was accepting the art is subjective and not everyone will like everything. What I believe will be a crowd pleaser will sit on the shelf and others that I thought may be too much for most are snatched up. I learned not to take it personal someone does not like my art. It is not an attack on my design or work…people just like what “they” like.

A great hat will completes your style wether casual or formal. It pulls together the look. Each hat is adorned with at least one button. The button symbolizes the relationship between hat and your outfit. As stated before, a Ted Jackson creation, like a button, brings the outfit together or “tightens it up!” #GetButtonedUp everyone!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am definitely a person that like to see people while I am out so that would influence that places and things that I would do.

1. Atlantic Station on a Saturday can be an experience in itself. From shopping, movies, bowling, food, and people watching can all happen there on a beautiful Georgia Saturday in the Spring.

2. Roof Top at Ponce City Market provides a view of the city as well as games and drinks for all ages. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are sooo many people and experiences that deserve recognition in my story from mother to brother and friends to co-workers. Each have given me pieces of knowledge that carved me into the person I am today. The one person who I believe deserves the most credit is my wife. Through all the ups and downs of friendship, marriage, and business she has been my inspiration. I watched her grind and dedication to succeed and it definitely motivated me to begin and to continue.
