Meet Shalonda Brown: CBD Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shalonda Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shalonda, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I’ve made was quitting my job during the pandemic to run my business full time! It was crazy because I’d been in the healthcare field for almost 20 years, but my thought process was it’s now or never! I loved my job, but I knew that I didn’t want to work a 9-5 for the rest of my life, so I prayed and asked God for guidance and took a leap of faith.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started in the CBD Industry almost 2 years ago and getting involved with Hempworx was the best decision I’ve made! Not only are the products trendy & unique, people from all over the world are getting incredible results. After seeing what these products did for me, I decided to start my business and help others to experience these great products and health benefits for themselves. I would like to refer to my business as a house of brands! I sell CBD products such as: CBD coffee, CBD edibles, CBD Tinctures, CBD Sprays, CBD Skincare, and more as well as Essential Oils and Travel. We’ve also added Forex and Cryptocurrency to our list which I’m really excited about! I must say that I am where I am today through God, pray, my daughters and consistency! There was so many times that I felt like giving up, but when looking at my daughters I knew that quitting was not an option. The greatest lessons I’ve learned thus far is just be ME! There’s no one like me and can do my business like me! It took some time to get to this place, but I have to believe in myself to sell myself and my brand. I’m no longer allowing others to do that for me! I want people to know that I am here to help inform on (the very misinformed) CBD/Hemp plant and it’s uses. There’s so much misinformation about this plant and I’m grateful to be apart of this great movement in educating and helping others learn and benefit from this amazing plant!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day One: Check In at the One Ocean Resort (overlooks Atlantic Beach).
Spa Day at resort’s oceanfront spa and have a couple of beach-inspired treatments to relax and catch up!

The Beaches Town Center to shop at the boutiques for trinkets and souvenirs.

Have dinner at Coop 303.

Day Two:

Brunch at Casa Marina (buffet style that’s filled with the freshest seafood, pasta, desserts and more with ocean view)!

Fun in the sun at Atlantic Beach

Lunch at the Shim Sham Room (chicken and waffles are delicious).

Five Points for more shopping and end the night at Rain Dogs for karaoke, grub, live bands, local art, and amateur comedy.

Day Three:

Breakfast at Maple Street Biscuit Company.

Tour the Ritz Theatre & Museum (showcases African American history and culture in Florida).

Sweet Pete’s Candy Shop to take the tour of the factory and make our own candy!

Lunch at Prati Italia (known for their Italian housemade pasta and Roman pizzas).

Fun in the Sun at Atlantic Beach

Have Dinner at Flying Iguana Taqueria and Tequila bar (known for food, cocktails, and live music)

Day Four:

All day relaxation at the resort

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to God for allowing Ted Sims ( mentor) and I paths to cross to make difference in peoples lives and achieve financial freedom for myself and my family!
