Meet Kim Cook: CEO/Owner All Living Things LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Cook and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kim, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I truly didn’t aspire to be a business owner! I’ve always had a love for plants but late one night in 2017, The Most High spoke to me that growing a business to teach my people how to love, grow and care for plants. That instantly struck fear, worry, doubt. But then, I was given the foundational scripture Psalms 145:16 “You open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing” and from that point I haven’t been afraid to move forward.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
All Living Things LLC is a Horticulture Design and Maintenance Company that specializes in creating eye-catching living décor for your home or office space. Beginning in 2017 and becoming an official LLC in 2020, I have made incredible gains in the Horticulture arena. All Living Things doesn’t just sell plants, I create unique succulent arrangements, stage and maintain indoor plants for home or office and also due to COVID-19 I began creating gardens!! So, there are many things that set All Living Things LLC apart from others.

My customers are how I have been able to sustain!! I am grateful for each and every person that has supported my business. These are the people who find value in plant life and also want to share with the world as I do. Also, having a marketing and branding plan that draws and keeps the attention of my target audience has helped me stay relevant and growing throughout the years.

I don’t believe anything worth having will be easy, so this process has been far from easy. With not having a true “mentor”, I have had to find out a lot of things on my own or with my circle of business friends. Perseverance has to be the name of the game, through the good and bad just keep pushing.

I want the world to know that Kim of All Living Things is dedicated to the education of my community to the beauty and healing benefits of plants; from simply having as decoration or growing your own garden. Plants are life, plants are healing!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love nature, so my best friends and I would plan a trip to the nearest nature trail or preserve! I love the Cascade Nature Preserve, its a quaint find in the Southwest part of the city where I’m from. Also hitting the West End for some delicious vegan food from Tassili’s Raw Reality or Wadada ATL. You’re sure to find good vibrations and good drum circle in that part of the city!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family has been a huge support in my growth as a business owner! Definitely financially and spiritually, in moments where I didn’t think I could make it they came through to lift me up and made sure that I carried the torch to the next goal!
