We had the good fortune of connecting with Levatta Levels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Levatta, what role has risk played in your life or career?
To take risks, one has to be daring, courageous, brave, confidant, and bold! Throughout my career I’ve had the audacity to believe I could make a difference. I believed that my purpose was to improve and change lives. Early on as a teacher and later as a principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent, I was audacious in my actions with the intention on changing and impacting lives.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
An educator by trade, I have served as a teacher, principal, bilingual specialist, director, assistant superintendent, superintendent, adjunct professor, and currently, a doctoral student. My journey has had numerous challenges, in which I’ve learned several lessons. One lesson has been to continue to develop and grow. “Don’t get comfortable”. In each position, I’ve focused on broadening my professional learning in order to serve my community. As I elevated throughout my career, the attained knowledge were prerequisites for my later career success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
