We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Thornton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittney, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Fort Hood, Texas as a military brat but grew up in Glen Burnie during my childhood. After high school I graduated from college then I moved to Baltimore. My background has made me more culturally diverse and prepared me for life experiences I couldn’t have planned for. I’m very grateful for the people that I have met throughout this journey, good or bad, you helped shape me to strive for better.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Wow these questions really make you reflect and I’m grateful for the experience firstly. I would like to consider myself as a media coverage queen. I love capturing the best interviews with artists, brands, creatives, businesses and more. My guests say that I ask the questions that get to know the real side of who they are without making it uncomfortable. I uncovered hidden exclusives that propelled my career. Im most proud of covering the National Cannabis Festival in D.C. where Ludacris, my favorite rapper of all time performed. Not only did I get to cover the entire amazing event for the first time as media but he pointed in acknowledgment as I sung my favorite song ‘Southern Fried Intro’. Covering Ludacris during the Verzus challenge also led to my first viral videos on YouTube.

Getting access to be trusted with delivering quality content is not an easy journey but definitely worth it for those who are tough enough. I experienced financial hardship, being jumped & robbed, loss, stress and more, to achieve another day to live out my dreams.

I’ve learned that there are people you listen to and people you ignore, some are seasonal some are permanent, and all mistakes aren’t meant to set you back but set you up.

I want anyone reading this far to know that the world is very different than what we thought it would be today but we can continue to live in a way that puts love, respect, and peace as tools to achieve your biggest dreams. My brand is about the trueness of my life but continuously growing, from my passions on music to the community surrounding, I cant wait to uncover your story next.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I like to travel, so if you’re in ATL looking for some nice lounges Suite Lounge ATL on Sundays & Oak on Saturdays, you won’t miss. When I’m back home I love to hit the Harbor East side of downtown Baltimore because of the water and delicious seafood, and I love Flight Baltimore Restaurant from portion size to quality. You got to get a crab cake while in town! I like the DC nightlife for a Friday or Saturday depending if its date night. I think some amazing people I’ve encountered that I can say you need to experience is a DJ set when DJ QuickSilva is in the mix, he’s the GOAT!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I was thinking of how can I choose one category and really express the recognition they deserve, as I think the only person I feel is deserving is one who has several of these categories covered and that’s my “lil big sis” Raven Paris. She released her own entrepreneurial workbook, developed her own brand, business and basics to living with purpose. When we first started over 5 years ago I thought she was such a light to the industry and she has brightened the Baltimore & DMV area through her content and personality. I’m just so proud of her work-life balance as she recently found love and became Mrs. Parker. She has helped thousands and poured into countless others. She definitely deserves her flowers today.
