We had the good fortune of connecting with Zero The Composer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zero, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I personally don’t think it’s something that you know, just something that you do. You work so hard to get to certain levels, that failure isn’t much of an option. Why put in so much work to only give up?
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Producer/Songwriter. What seperates me from the others is, when you hear a ZeroTheComposer beat, you will know it’s a ZeroTheComposer beat. Most people talk about how they sleep in the studio, sleep isn’t even a part of my vocabulary. I work day in and day out to make sure my songs are hits. The most exciting part of what I do is working with mainstream artist. Being flown out just to make music and vibe never gets old. It is never easy when you are working on a craft to perfect. But it is always worth it once you do. I credit my work to everyone who has ever reached out for a beat. A life lesson I live by is chase after your dreams and grab your success. I want the world to understand that the Midwest is on the rise. We often times have to leave our homes to make our dreams come true, which is fine. But I do this for those who may not be able to leave their homes.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I have a guest coming to visit the first place I take them to is Slutty Vegan- it’s something about that Fussy Hussy that stay calling my name. I then take them over to the God is Dope store if it is open to grab some pieces and since we are in Edgewood, no way we aren’t getting Edgewood Pizza. But then I usually have at least one studio session set up and I may bring them- if allowed. This way, they can see me in action but also who don’t want to go to the studio?! I am 9 times out of 10 taking them to Escobar Lounge for a good time. And last but never least, The Trap Musik Museum, is a must. Can’t be in the land of Trap and not go expierence the Trap Museum.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well, of course I have to shoutout my Publicist Coco Michelle. She works so hard not only for me but all her clients and still finds time to laugh and smile. But also, Mampz my Manager who keeps the fire under me to make sure I am on top of my work and ensuring work is coming. And most of all, the recording studios in Indianapolis, Indiana who have allowed me to grow as a Producer/Songwriter and now living in Atlanta as an established Producer in the music industry.
