We had the good fortune of connecting with Murad Nadir and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Murad, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit last March there was one thought that rang through my mind, “I gotta make it to the other side of this in a better position than I came into this.” I immediately diversified my fitness modules and began practicing Zoom training sessions with anyone that was bored enough to join my classes. When I became confident in my program- I began pitching my brand on different social media programs. In my first year of business: I have over 20 clients, ages 15-59, from all across the USA. I believe there will be two types of people on the other side of the pandemic: those sitting on the Good Morning America sofa speaking about how they changed their lives during Covid-19 and those watching-wishing they did the same. I’d like to be on GMA!!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Fitness is about LONGEVITY. I strongly believe in flipping the expression, ‘If you feel good, you look good!” It’s normal to chase body image goals. However, I train my clients to fall in love with the everyday work they are pouring into themselves. At #JoinMyObsession we focus on the Mind behind the Body. Existing in each present moment to enjoy the time you are putting in for the future moments. If you find a love for the work you put into your body- the results will follow.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Lunch: My first stop for anyone visiting Atlanta is always Jinya Ramen Bar in Buckhead. This place has a great family feel. “IRASHAI!”Ask for Jonathan (@hoonarious) he’s the man!

Dinner: I love Eclipse Di Luna in Buckhead. It’s a great Tapas Restaurant with Live Music and a rather sexy crowd. Go on Thursday’s to salsa with @Williams_latino

After Dinner/Pregame: The Bucket Shop on Lennox is my low-key spot. The bartenders are always nice and sweet with a little bit of sass. Sass me up baby! I won’t reveal my favorite club spot. It will reveal too much. Matter of fact- I don’t club; Join me at 6am for a HIIT workout!

Morning Run: Kittredge Park is my little oasis away from the city while still being in the city. It’s a great park with enough trails to keep the run exciting.

Lastly: Roc South Cuisine on Buford Highway is the spot for soul food. It’’s one of my favorite new spots and it’s I.T.P!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family at Atlanta Kick has supported me nonstop and has ultimately shaped my fitness journey. At the beginning of the pandemic the owners of Atlanta Kick jumped into action for our members and for us trainers too. I want to occupy this moment to give the owners of Atlanta Kick a special, “What’s Upppp” ! Jeff, Heidi and Ali, immediately rose to the occasion for our members by considering the social and economic pressures our community was facing. Like most gyms, we began by offering a slew of morning and evening virtual classes. Unlike most gyms Atlanta Kick took it up a notch and started to offer an array of social hours for all of our members. The owners made giant efforts to keep smiles on the faces of our members and beads of sweat on their foreheads. I hosted weekly ‘Zoom Happy Hour’ and ‘Trivia Night’ as part of that effort. The supervising trainers at Atlanta Kick have put in countless hours to prepare our staff. Thank You; Paola, Bryan, Ryan & Elaina!
