We had the good fortune of connecting with A.E. Manning and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi A.E., Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Over the years I’ve noticed that we are broken mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and nutritionally. Our well care is sick care, the people are confused with conflicting information from trusted sources in regards to what to eat and how to live and we’re just spinning on a hamster wheel chasing a bag. It’s disheartening to see which is why personally and professionally, do NO harm is the principle that matters the most to me. My mission is to not only keep it real with my family, friends, and clients but to ensure that I take the time to hear them in order to create the best plan of action to help them help themselves as they embark on their Journey to Wellness.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Blu Synergy Wholistics (BSW) aims to educate, engage, and empower the functionally sick to mind, body, and spirit wellness with nutritional and whole living education using kosher, natural, organic, whole therapies. Unlike others, I’m walking in my passion and purpose. I embody every bit of BSW ensuring an individualized solution to every problem with compassion, patience, professionalism mixed with the wisdom you’d get from your mother, auntie, or grandma. I’m excited about Food Advocacy and being a board member of a new non-profit that’s helping the under served communities in Forest Park and Clayton County. It brings me great joy to effect change in the most positive way to ensure the youth have a better foundation for a bright future. The business of wellness is like breathing, but getting used to today’s market of social media has been a learning curve; my connections with some dope innovators/marketing geniuses has helped me find my voice and confidence online. Some lessons I’ve learned along the way include stop chasing perfectionism and taking myself so seriously. Life hasn’t been easy as a woman, mother, or Veteran; I’ve been through it all and made it on the other side to tell the tale. I’m here to help others do the same so if you’re ready to break free from trauma and heal your mind, body, and spirit, hit me up. I’ll be happy to assist you on your Journey to Wellness.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite eateries (hint, hint Yeah Burger) have shut down since Covid so eating out with my bourgeois taste is tough. We’d hit up KiNoTori, Farm Burger, or Farm Burger for a bite and I’d venture up to YDFM, run to TJs, and my favorite farm, Local Lands/Atlanta Harvest to grab some goodies because what better way to show my love than to cook a delicious kosher, organic, natural, whole meal? Although I’m a homebody, I love being in nature so we’d go to Reynold’s Nature Preserve, Stone Mountain, Vickery Creek Falls, and/or Piedmont Park. Festivals have been canceled so we’d go skating because why not, vibe out at a lounge or take in a comedy show, and drive up to Jeju for a body polish, steam, swim, and enjoy the sauna.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve been blessed to have a village who has loved, inspired, and encouraged me through my various transformations to be who I am today. My grandma, Nell, for teaching me to be authentic and how to harness the power of my heritage, my parents for encouraging my love for research and ensuring I knew where I came from, my cubs for inspiring me to be my best self, my big brothers for always having my back and giving me feedback to all my ideas, my dear friends for pouring love and life into me, and Dr. H and staff at Energetic Health Institute for pushing me to think critically and seeing the bigger picture of health, life, and love.
