We had the good fortune of connecting with Tabatha James, Founder, The Sensible Vegan, LLC and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tabatha, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
I’m happy because I am truly doing things that I love, and I am making a difference in so many lives by using my God-given talents. After becoming vegan I also became a certified holistic nutrition consultant. I It makes me smile to hear amazing stories from people that I have helped telling me their health has totally transformed since switching to a vegan, plant based diet. I have also been a writer since I was 10. My parents encouraged me to write, and I love writing poetry and stories. I published my 2nd book and first vegan children’s book in 2019. The book is about a dairy farmer that has children and makes the connection between the bond between all mothers and their babies. She turn her dairy farm into a cow sanctuary. Lastly, it feels good that I am making a difference in the lives of my family. We are a vegan household, and we do events together and create amazing recipes together. I love my team.
What should our readers know about your business?
The Sensible Vegan, LLC is a company that educates the community about veganism using several different tools. We have a blog featuring quick and easy recipes using 10 ingredients or less. We also create vegan children’s books and are working o several other exciting projects now. When I first became vegan it was hard to explain veganism to people. I quickly educated myself and did tons of research so that I could help people of all ages more effectively. I am so proud of the opportunity to provide educational materials that change lives, make people think, and advocates for animals.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is a Vegan Mecca. We would definitely do a restaurant tour hitting up some of my favorite spots: Cinnaholic, Soul Vegetarian, Tassili’s Raw Reality Cafe, and Avocado Vegan Cafe ad Juice Bar! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my husband and daughter for always being amazing and supportive. Shout out to Marisa Miller Wolfson, filmmaker and Director of Vegucated. Because of watching that film I went vegan overnight on February 22, 2016. Shoutout to my super parents that showed me what is truly means to not only talk about being a Christian but to live it showing love and compassion and being kind to EVERY kind.
