Meet Janir Sanchez: DJ & Music Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Janir Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janir, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Make music, play music, watching people enjoying my music. I think is one of the best sensations in the world, people enjoying your art, it makes me so happy and when im on the stage people can tell im always smiling and having so much fun.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a DJ/Producer since I was 15. I learned all by myself, spending a lot of hours on the computer, watching tutorials and using my imagination that I personally think is very important. I specialize in Tech House and Latin House music, I love to use the cultural music from my country Colombia and combined with the House music beats, and also English vocals like 90’s popular songs or simply just random vocals I found on internet. I think that’s what identity me the thing of use crazy vocals on my songs sometimes, and make the Latin house with Latin vocals off course. What makes me proud of myself is that I learn something fast, and I never took music classes, I think I just never needed it, I learned how to play guitar, drums, production and DJ by myself and didn’t take a lot of time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I would take him to one of my favorite places called Botanico kitchen bar t have some drinks and eat, its a pretty nice place with good music and good environment. And for the weekend off course I would take him to my office, The scenario, the stage, the party time! And I call it office cause I take this very professional and im not just a guy who like to party crazy. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think a lot or people helped me a lot and some of them are still helping me a lot. My parents, my friends, I would love to mention one of my best friends Rob Session who has helped me a lot in my career. 2 years ago I met some really good friends Sayid, Reivy and Christian. We started making small parties and now we doing big things and more coming up! and many more friends that always support me wherever I go.
