We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Beatrice Small and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Beatrice, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is the work of The Trinity (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit), my Family, and the Partners that have come along side of me to help aid in accomplishing the mission of discipleship, membership, mentorship, and sonship. There is not much that any one can do alone. It takes the help of others in all walks of life to be a part of the vision / purpose that God has given and the desires that you have from within to make a difference and impact upon the face of this earth. Having a heart to serve, the love to look beyond what you see and reach forth to that which will bless and empower others in life is my motivation. I had several people in my childhood and young adult life that gave me a helping hand without condemnation. They prepared me through their love for me to seek to do the same with every opportunity that would be presented to me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As the ministry of New Birth Fellowship of Praise “hallows” the name of Jesus, in spirit and truth, we honor God for this house that is built on foundational and kingdom principles for the purpose of perfecting, equipping and edifying the people of God, for the work of the ministry. We understand the truth of Psalms 127:1 “except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” As a body of Christ, we believe that we must be Christ centered, (there is no other way) divinely motivated (through the work of the Holy Spirit) as we are surely scripturally supported (“all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”). As a female Minister that started out in 1989 and merging into Pastorate in 2000. I have weathered many storms of rejection in ministry. However, God posed a question to me: “Why Not Me” I answered in the form of a book. A biblical study to challenge and encourage women to embrace the calling, gifts and anointing that is upon their life. The premise of the story is not about the gender of the messenger, but the message itself. It’s about God and His mission. The ministry of restoration and reconciliation is what we as a people should be about. All, have been hurt and wounded on many levels in life. But we can help mend the hearts of many, when we choose to make a difference in lives of others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week long trip for a friend of mine, would consist of Church of course! Sharing the ministry that God has allowed me to move in. As well as showing them the community that we serve and the people that we partner with. Business first and then that which brings about other pleasures. Like: Bowling is big in my book, Chateau Elan for a girls spa trip, Ponce City Market for food and shopping, Busy Bee Café for some soul food. And other places to visit would be The King Center, Georgia Aquarium and Centennial Olympic Park. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my shoutout to my loving family (Allan Jr. Nicole and Allan III) and the supportive “partners” of New Birth Fellowship Of Praise who have stood with me for 20 years. Taking ownership as well as responsibility for the assignments that have been presented and fulfilled. As we look forward to all other assignments. There are many friends/mentors that have imparted much wisdom and stood with me along the way, from Germany to Virginia (a spiritual Father, Dr. Floyd M. Blackwell), Korea and now Georgia. I recognize Mia Hann, who had an ear to hear that which was being spoken to her from me through the leading of the Holy Spirit. God prepared doors to be open and bring about a ministry to bless others. God has been moving and continues to move upon His people in this season. The advancement in life of mind soul and body is the excitement that I relish when God moves.
