We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariana Waller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a technologist and a business owner, I understand how important it is for founders and small business owners to use tech to be efficient and scale in their business. Specifically, I am very passionate about helping black women and men, and underrepresented founders with becoming digitally relevant and efficient. I am a software developer and technologist, which basically means I can build anything, and through my company, Wallway Technologies, I aim to do just that. We currently are servicing clients across the U.S. and plan to expand to other countries in the near future.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Building a business is honestly super challenging, however, there are many rewards that can come but you have to be consistent and understand that it’s okay that things take time! You can’t build a million-dollar company overnight but you can build one over time with consistency and patience. I am really excited about the expansion of my tech company, Wallway Technologies. We offer technology services like website design, mobile application development, and custom software solutions for small business owners and founders. It’s really amazing to see how our services make such a huge difference for business owners. The best part about my job as CEO of Wallway Technologies is seeing how our services positively impact our customers’, customers.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of the best things about being born and raised in the city of Atlanta is that all of my friends want to move or visit here and I get to show them around town! My highest recommendations are Mr. Everything’s off of MLK, Kelz Kitchen on Forsyth avenue, and for good brunch or dinner I recommend the sundial restaurant in downtown Atlanta (they have amazing duck there!).
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank Jade Lockard, Spelman grad and she’s a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I met jade back in 2018 at a hackathon that was the beginning of a life-long friendship. She constantly supports me, shares information on how I can better my business through funding, resources, asks me the tough questions, etc. She is truly a dynamic woman and a rare person that I am so grateful to have in my circle. It’s so rare to meet people in your life that are truly for you as a person regardless of what venture you are a part of. The last person I’d like to thank is my good friend Dominic Norton. We’ve been good friends since freshman year at Tuskegee University. He was one of the first people to inspire me to understand what a true hustle is. Additionally, he is another tech genius that I look up to for advice, tech support, and good cloth talk on business. From teaching me how to build my first smart-contract on the blockchain to sharing countless resources with me about applications. I am forever grateful for you brother!
