We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristin Giteles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristin, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The story behind my business took on a mind of its own honestly. I had already been prepping meals for some of my personal training clients, social media definitely helped. With the post of one picture I had a ton of interest in what I was offering. At that point I was not prepared to expand my small side hustle. But after the loss of my son and the desire to be home with my children two things happened. I did not want to miss a minute of their lives. With that I also acknowledged the lack of availability to busy working families to provide healthy, simple and delicious dinners every night. So with individual meal prep evolved family meal prep, then catering and now I have found my absolutely favorite part , charcuterie platters and boxes. I have had so many opportunities arrive since opening Clean Eats with Kris. Catering and cooking for amazing people who have become consistent clients/friends to traveling to the Masters every year! With Covid I have needed my own personal artistic outlet more than ever. Keeping my business alive during this time is something I am very proud of. It has been a struggle all around but I am so happy to still be able to provide families with healthy meal options and fun date night boxes.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe what sets me apart from others is my love, compassion and personal connections to each client. Just like any working mother of 3 balancing work and family time is tough, even more so now. So it has not been easy but without the struggles I would not be able to relish in my accomplishments. I have learned many things along the way but persistence is one that has been consistently reinforced. My refusal to quit as well as my desire to help others has gotten me to where I am today. I would like people to know that everything I do is with love, and my goal is to help families stay healthy. My hope is by providing home cooked healthy meals, families can have more time together instead of constantly being on the go! It is so easy to get caught up in our work lives and trying to get from one minute to the next. With my meals families can have one less stress to worry about.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
What a great question… We would definitely eat out way through Atlanta. Although my picks my not necessarily fit the business criteria of health foods, we would enjoy every minute. We would enjoy bales and lox Goldberg’s in Dunwoody, Campania for their amazing Neapolitan pizza and all their other goodies! Cinnaholic for their deliciously gooey cinnamon rolls or Insomnia for their chocolate peanut butter cookies …drool!!! BRASH for the best latte is a must also! We would stay at the Hotel Clermont and enjoy some cocktails and relaxation on their rooftop! A must do would be to take a bicycle tour on the Beltline and float down the Chattahoochee.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To start I would not be here with out the love of God and the strength he provides me. My family is my main source of encouragement and support. My mom for instilling in me the love of cooking and providing a home cooked meal, My children’s father and kids for always being open to taste testing and honesty with the good and the bad. Also their understanding that sometimes we eat cereal for dinner when mommy is exhausted from being in the kitchen all day! Last but not least I would not be who I am without my Father for teaching me persistence and to never give up.
